Over the last few days while I was working out in the morning, I watched the Ken Burns Series on Baseball, and it was excellent. It did a wonderful job in showing the entire history of the game right through the Steroids Era, and I really enjoyed watching it.
One fact I didn't know is that after the season where Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's Home Run Record, San Francisco refused to renew his contract and no other team would hire him and he never played professional baseball again. His record was so tainted by then due to his use of steroids and his defiant attitude that he never received the acclaim that he desired. __________________

Very true about Bonds. I heard he's a jerk in real life but it's too bad professionally he didn't receive the acclaim. He sure was fun to watch when he was pounding baseballs out of stadiums. |
