The Andy & Nina Appreciation Thread

If anyone has any graphics they want to be added into the intro please post them, or if you know of something that was in the old intro that should be in the new one just speak up.

And lastly, if anyone knows where some recent Andy/Nina caps are holla at me and I'll see if I can't make a new banner that says something about this being their appreciation thread.

tidbit, thanks so much for starting this thread.

I know we were still on the first thread before the crash but I will change it to #2 because I am advancing most of threads by one because I want to forget about the depressing fact that so many threads were completely lost. I figure making it a new and advanced number is a healthy way to do it.

Since Day 1 I've been second-to-none in my appreciation of Nina (there's the "appreciation" part to match this thread), but I confess I was somewhat disappointed in her last night. She feels okay about having a relationship with an addict as long as nobody else in town finds out? Huh?
To me this confirms her relationship with Jake is more about her being something of a mother hen than being about love. After all, in addition to Sam she has at various times mothered Delia, Ephram, Andy, and Hannah. Why not Jake?
Nina is so warm and has so much love to give, I hate to see it being wasted on such a doofus. Especially since she was wasting it on another doofus before.

No kidding. Nina is in the business of consistently being labelled a "nurturer and protector" and it all comes back to her big heart and natural ability to love and reach out to people. Problem is, she is wasting her amazing kindness on someone like Jake, who isn't worth a plugged nickel.

It is so obvious that she is trying way too hard to make this ridiculous relationship work for whatever unfounded reasons. Actually, the shrink in me thinks she is carrying on with this fiasco because she is subconsiously still running scared from who she knows is the guy she is meant to be with. Andy. I think she knows this deep down but is still unwilling to admit it outwardly. It terrifies her to face this realness because if her relationship with Andy were to crumble, it would be devastating for her. So it's safer for her to be in a relationship with Jake right now because she doesn't have to get as hurt and heartbroken if and when it fails.

Eventually, she will have to face the fact that she only truly loves Andy. It will be scary for her but that is a reality that simply will not be denied.

I wouldn't say anything at all, about Nina being together with Jake, if she actually would truly love him. But it's pbvious, not only for me, that she just is with him, cause she wants to give Jake support during is drug absence..

And the fact, that she doesn't want, that anybody finds out, that Jake is an addict, shows me, that she doesn't truly love him. And that she always runs to Andy and tells him everything..

She just should let Jake go and Focus on the important Man in her life

Here's my thing, if she's so "in love" with Jake and trusts him and wants to be with him why is it #1 She doesn't want everyone to know he's an addict? She doesn't want everyone to know her business on part because she doesn't want to be judged but if she loves him like she claims to she wouldn't care.

And, #2 Why is she constantly running to Andy every time she's having problems with Jake? Or just having problems period? She always goes to him for help or just someone to talk to. It's obvious how much he cares about her & her about him. I'm with yall, I think deep down she's just plain scared. Look at her last few relationships. She cares about Andy more than any other guy who has come and gone which give him the power to hurt her more. So she cares from afar, she settles for a best friend instead of something more because she knows that if they got together and things didn't work out, it would hurt both of them deeply.

Precisely. She is scared. It is always terrifying to put yourself out there whenever true feelings are involved because it is the worst feeling in the world whenever it doesn't work out. Nina knows that the best friend title that her and Andy are sharing right now is safe and comfortable. And she gets to see him whenever she wants too which is another good deal for her considering she is in love with him so seeing him is always a good thing. However, to officially go there and put everything on the line in the romance department is so very frightening. She might even be scared that if it doesn't work out, then their best friend relationship is also gone and she will have nothing else connecting her to Andy. That would be devastating to her.

So her fears are certainly getting the best of her and as a result, it is nice and easy for her to continue on in this safe and plastic relationship with Jake while remaining best friends with Andy.

This probably doesn't qualify as appreciation, but....
For the second straight week, I was more than a bit disappointed with Nina. Obviously she hasn't come to grips with what it means to live with a recovering addict; otherwise she would have understood without asking that Jake isn't in a position to look beyond his next day's sobriety at the moment. For her to be disappointed he wasn't thinking about babies was way off base.
What bothered me the most, however, was her blatant disregard for Andy's feelings. She has no reason to believe his feelings for her have changed since he declared them, in spite of his noble attempts to be her friend. For her to not only burden him with her blathering on about proposing to Jake, but to blandly ask him if he knows any reason she shouldn't do so, was almost cruel.

I wasnot able to see this past week's episode but I saw the previews and Nina really disappointed me.

OT: I added a banner I made earlier to the intro but I didn't realize until just now that I used the same heart brush on it that I did on the "you found me" one

Ok, maybe Nina wasn't the nicest person to Andy the last 2 Episodes. But on the other Hand, you guys remember S3? It was for everyone obvious that Nina has feelings for Andy. And was Andy nice to Nina? Wasn't he the one who didn't care about Nina and wasted no time at all to have a stupid affair with Amanda???

That hurt Nina and from that point of view and with that in my mind, I just don't feel so sorry for Andy as I may should do.

I think, when the Time is right, they'll be together. I honestly hope, that we gonna see a 5th Season, so the writers can give both of them, Nina and Andy, time to work out how they both feel about each other and then, they'll, hopefully, be ready for a Relationship.

Thank you, Coffee. Exactly! I was saying this right on the episode discussion thread. Funny how so many have forgotten about what Andy did to Nina in season 3. And yet, Nina is currently being pegged as cruel and heartless while Andy is the saint? Hello. Sorry, my memory is better than that.

They are both just "missing each other" is the entire point. They'll get it right sooner or later.

I'm sure, they'll work something out and when the time's right, they will be together but I understand Nina. What does Andy expect? He tells her how he feels and she givesw everything up, kicks Jake, who just moved in, out and says, sorry pal Andy loves me, you gotta go? Oh I don't even try to pretend it's all Nina's fault they're not together. Andy has just as much blame. It takes two to tango and two not to tango. Andy's made his mistakes, and Nina is making hers.

I know I can go on sometimes like I think they're real people and like I'm really mad at them. But the fact is they're not real people, but the story-lines and the choices they have the characters make do disappoint me sometimes.

I would like to put all the blame on Nina for them not being together because Andy at the moment does want her and made a move in that direction. But the fact is Andy had other chances. He could have made his "move" before Jake but he didn't and that's something he'll have to deal with.

Yeah I want them together, yeah I want her to dump Jake and Andy to get some courage. But the fact is, they've had their choices and they've made them, whether they were the right choices or wrong choices they made them. I'm just hoping their future choices lead them to each other before they loose the chance.

Totally agree. They have had endless chances, they need to cash in soon before it's too late.
