Linda Abbott/Marcia Cross Appreciation Thread: She made Delia understand.

I hope that this is okay. I thought it would be interesting to possibly discuss Linda Abbott as a character on the series, her past, where she is now and her possible return to Everwood, even if just for a brief moment. She made us laugh when Delia and Brittany gave her a hard time. She made us cry with her at the train station. She made us question whether Andy was really meant to end up with Nina. She was a wonderful character played by a wonderful actress. Who know, maybe we can steal her from Desperate Housewives for a week.

Great idea for this thread, ergo. I'm shocked we don't already have an existing thread. I absolutely loved Linda and for every reason you listed. Marcia is one hell of an actress and she was just perfect as Linda. I also hope that we can steal her from DH's for an episode or two.

It seems that not many people like Linda. Lol. Maybe we can start a discussion of some sort, Wilpen?

Favorite Linda moment?
Most heartwrenching Linda moment?

My favorite moment is from Three Miners in Everwood. I think that's the title. The scene between her and Andy:

"I didn't know you were such a cowboy" - Linda
"I don't always wear the hat." - Andy

Hee.

Most heartwrenching moment is a tie between the scene where Andy calls Linda Julia. The look on her face after that is so crushed. Also, her final scene in the train station where she breaks down right after Andy leaves. Only time in the entire show where I thought "Andy, you should be like Madison!" She didn't listen to Ephram when he told her to go inside. Andy shouldn't have let Linda leave. Jerk.

lol ergo.. I do think there has to be more people that like Linda, but it's sort of an "out of sight, out of mind" deal where she hasn't been on for a long while, and that could be a reason as to why this thread isn't active right now. I love your idea of getting a topic going and maybe this will spark some interest and interaction.

My favorite moment is in No Sure Thing, whenever Linda "attempts" to break up with Andy because of how she saw Andy interacting with his children and she realizes how important they are to him, but Andy didn't want her to even go on with attempting to break up with him because he wasn't having it. It was so sweet how he talked her out of breaking up and made her realize that they could have something real and good together. So sweet.

Most heartwrenching moment is definitely her final scene in the train station where she breaks down right after Andy leaves. That simply broke my heart. I didn't understand why he didn't put up a fight.. He so shouldn't have let her leave.

Well, technically, he let her leave because her contract was up. XD

P.S. You can call me Noah if you'd like.

Hey Noah.. You can also call me, Michelle.

That's exactly why he let her leave, unfortunately. I do like how they left it sort of open ended in case Linda were to come back. I know it's wishful thinking that Marcia would ever permanently return to the role of Linda, but maybe she would agree to come back for a bit whenever she would possibly have a break with DH's.. Oh, that would be exceptional if this could somehow be done.

If Desperate Housewives wasn't doing so well ratings-wise it might have been a possibilty to see Linda again for more then the possible guest appearance. Sad, but true. Is it wrong that I wish ill of shows because I want a person associated with them to come back to Everwood. For example, I wasnted Jack & Bobby to be cancelled so Berlanti would come back fulltime to Everwood. I'm so spiteful. I love it.

So true. The better DH's gets, the less likely Marcia will be able to return for any miraculous extended period. At best, we're probably looking at an episode or two for Marcia to come back and do.. Even that's pushing it, unfortunately.

Ha. lol Noah.. I like the way you think because honestly, I posted almost an exact description of your thoughts not too long ago on the E/A thread. I haven't even seen J&B yet because in the back of my head, I wanted to see it fail because I want Berlanti back with Everwood. I have sort of changed my mind since hearing the buzz about J&B being a good show, and feeling for the dedicated fans of the show that are scared that it won't be renewed.

Nevertheless, I can honestly say that the reason why I haven't seen the show is because I feel like I would be contributing to the continued disconnection of Berlanti on Everwood. Heh.

I've seen a few episodes of J&B and, quite honestly, didn't like it at all. So I don't feel bad wishing for its cancellation. Lol.

Hey you guys. I like Linda too. I liked the different perspective she brought to the show. Eastern medicine confronting Western medicine. Very interesting subject.

I loved the debate of Eastern versus Western medicine that she brought to the table. Great point, Gaby.

I agree Gaby. Up until Linda's introduction we had Harold, the conservative and Andy, the Liberal. Both of them thought that they performed their duties the correct way. Linda proved that not everything is as black and white as it seems that Western medicine isn't the only group. Harold and Andy were opposites that were opposites of Linda. Intersting how that works out and also interesting if I made any sense. I'd have more time to think these through if I didn't jump in when I only have 5 minutes before running out the door.

That totally made sense, Noah. It's true that Berlanti & Co. took two, opposite sides of the spectrum in conservative Harold and liberal Andy and showed how they both learned from Linda and her teaching's. It's not like they ended up being true converter's to her methods, but they certainly learned a great deal about how that shade of gray is certainly standing strong and nothing is as black and white as they both once thought.
