Glad I never watched either show. Already stunned given the racism, anti-gay, and misogyny on Dawson's Creek. A terrible show in general but realizing how thick it was with this stuff (especially in the early seasons) just blows me away. Despicable. |

Monster sucks since he's... a Monster. But at least he had enough of a brain to put the right ships together. |

Jason would rather give up substance (Bellarke/Bob/Eliza chemistry) over in his mind, giving up the fight with Bellarke fans. He's something else. |

Dawson's Creek had the famous line from Joey in the Pilot: 1. In the Pilot, Joey is asked why people don’t like her. She says: “Pick a topic, there's my dad the imprisoned convict, or my sister, impregnated by her black boyfriend.” Bodie, the “black boyfriend” ( ) is shown to be sweet, but unfortunately his race, and the fact that he lives, unmarried, with a white woman who is mother to his unborn child, becomes a... reason in Capeside as to why Joey doesn’t fit in. That is so pathetic, disgusting and yes, RACIST. 2. Then there's poor Jen, a few episodes in, admitting to Dawson that not only has she had sex before, she’s had sex with multiple partners. Dawson stops talking to her! Unreal! Like she did something "wrong" or was damaged goods. Jen feels awful about herself ( ), especially about the bit where she lost her virginity aged 12 to an “older guy who got her drunk(!)” (WOW, this is sickening how Jen is portrayed and young girls and women in general) and tells Dawson that she’s “not that girl anymore." Dawson forgives her like she did something wrong and had to be forgiven! 3. Then there's Pacey’s constant harassment of his brother for being gay. He didn't know it was reality but Pacey's harassing and bullying Doug at the mere thought of being gay is repulsive. 4. Don't even get me started on how they destroyed mental illness and basically laughed at it indirectly. 5. Or this, back to Jen: Quote:

It’s ridiculous. But, one made it into the TV Show Hallof Fame and the other didn’t.

Exactly, in the end, there was justice.
Same with Everwood. It was used and abused by the sloppy and soapy WB but it was critically acclaimed and always received the right praise from the critics and people that mattered. |
