Lately I can't help thinking about Joyce Summers from Buffy the vampire slayer when I think of Rose. For those of you who haven't watched BTVS and have no idea who the hell i'm talking about. Joyce was the beloved Mother of the main charecter Buffy who after recovering from an operation to remove a brain tumor died a couple of episodes later after everyone believed she was okay of a brain anuerism an unforeseen after effect of the surgery. I can't help fearing something like that will happen to Rose.

The Abbott Family is still probably my favorite family on any show I've watched. They were always there for each other

Great family, indeed! All about how great a mom Rose is and how great of a dad Harold is. I mean, look at these dinners she makes, while being mayor, while helping her kids, Harold, others. Harold gets a lot of talk about being the greatest TV dad, but Rose has to be up there for TV moms!

TV moms have definitely come a long way from the Donna Reed Show. Rose was a great wife and mom who didn't have to come to the door wearing her high heels, pearls, apron and greeting her husband with a martini and his slippers.
Harold didn't have to enter his house by saying, "I'm home!!" They were a beautiful loving couple who had their own fulfilled lives.

Rose was a great mother/wife

I was always so envious of their dinners. I wanted to sit down and have dinner with them

I always the relationship between Rose and Harold was potrayed beautifully. And when Rose got diagnosed with cancer That was a difficult time for the Abbotts.

ITA. One thing I really loved about Harold and Rose is that even though they had their disagreements, they never ever ever belittled each other - not within arguments, not to anyone else. I get so tired of TV couples where you wonder why they're even married if they so obviously don't even like each other.

I wanted to sit down and have dinner with them.

Oh man, no kidding. They had such yummy looking dinners.
