Welcome to the 10 years of Alias anniversary thread!

I have been an Alias fan since September 30th, 2001. That's right! I have been a fan since the pilot episode aired, exactly 10 years ago. From the very first moment when we saw Sydney & her red hair emerge from the water, I was hooked. And over the next 5 years, Alias became my whole world. Sydney & Vaughn were the only couple in the world I cared about. Jennifer Garner was my role model. Michael Vartan was my future husband. But 5 years has passed since the show ended & I have moved on to other "fandoms", other role models, & other future husbands, but I will never forget the impact Alias has had on my life. It will ALWAYS be my favorite show & Syndey & Vaughn will ALWAYS be my favorite "ship". Some shows & ships have come close, but none of them will ever compare to Alias & what it means to me. I still wish the show was still on today & we would be starting the 11th season this year, but as the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end" and that's how I felt when Alias ended. It was a good thing & it did have to end, but I am so glad it will live on forever in my memories & DVDs! Happy 10 year anniversary to Alias! I hope we never lose sight of the girl in the red wig.

For the Love of Alias
I watched part of season 2 and 3 when it originally aired then unfortunately stopped watching it for some reason I don't remember. I always wanted to try it again so I rented S1 disc 1 from Netflix, and the early cliffhangers totally hooked me. I think the relationships along with the action and cliffhangers made the series so awesome. I love spy stuff, but without the character development and drama-filled relationships, it would have been just another action show. I love serialized drama with a continuing storyline so this was right up my alley! Michael Giacchino's music score was a bonus! My favorite thing about the show is Victor Garber's portrayal of Jack Bristow and his relationships with Sydney and Irina Derevko.

TV Tropes - Alias

Examples:

Action girl: Mainly Sydney, but also Irina, Lauren, Nadia, Rachel, Anna Espinosa and Allison Dorren. Really, it would be easier to name the female characters who aren't Action Girls.

Bad Ass Family: Almost half the characters are related somehow, and sometimes they even go on missions together. It's dangerous enough to mess with Sydney, but if you mess with Sydney and Jack at the same time, you're just asking for trouble.

Chronic backstabbing disorder: Irina, Sloane and Sark.

Careful with this one - you'll spend AGES there
