OK, finally watched TLJ with my friend and thought I'd comment on a few things in no particular order

It's been out for 4 months, so I'm not going to spoiler tag it.

Basically, Rian undid a lot of what JJ put in place - Rey's parentage, Phasma and Snoke just for starters. So now that JJ's back, it's just a question of how much he cares about that stuff to bring them back (Kylo could have been lying about her parents and we don't definitively see Phasma die).

I liked Rose, but I can see how people saw her character as a Disney influence.

There's a lot of speculation that VII was Han's, VIII was Luke's and IX was to be Leia's, in terms of the old guard getting focus. So I guess we'll never know. I agree with those that think there'll be a time jump between episodes, during which Leia dies. As for Admiral whatsherface, her ending was my favourite single shot of the movie - the whole sonic boom splitting ships in half thing. Then Rey and Kylo's post-Snoke fight.

Well they gradually ran out of fuel, so that's why they got picked off one-by-one once they were in range of the big ship.

So, I was reading a lot of interviews, reviews and discussions about the movie last night that made things a lot clearer

(the next time I watch it, I won't goof around with a friend so much

) There are so many brilliant things I'll have to pay more attention to the next time I watch it

I'm still flabbergasted that it got such a negative fan reaction, some of the comments I read are.... I do not have words

I can't decide if I like TLJ or TFA more

... I'll have to rewatch both of them to decide

I'm not sure I completely agree at least regarding the Rey's parents stuff... I personally didn't feel like TFA really went too deep into who they might be and now that I caught up, I feel like this was blown way out of proportion by fan discussion

I noticed that some people was so angry their theories didn't turn out to be true it was kind of unbelievable to me

Yeah, I read a lot of "ascended fangirl" complaints, that are not too far off.... and on the opposite end the usual female/asian hate/this is PC going too far comments

I didn't mind her addition because as you know I really like funny nonsense and she and Finn provided a lot of it
