I haven't seen much of Brothers and Sisters, either, but Ron has been doing a great job on the episodes I've seen

Oh, I wish I could have season 1 on DVD already. I just loved it. But well, I'm gonna wait for the German DVD release so I can have a dubbed version (not that I would watch it, but maybe I'll make my Mom watch it and she definitely needs it in German I already made her obsessed with Alias that way.)

And I totally agree about Ron's acting. He's such an awesome actor. And it's still funny to see him as the nice family guy.

^ I know... I'm not sure I trust him in this role on Brothers and Sisters just because of his role on Alias

I think it'll be released spring next year so chances that you'll get your mum addicted are pretty good

Carol, totally agree with you. I just can't seem to trust him

Oh-- and this sounds interesting:

Just the bit with & about Ron -

Quote:
Actor Ron Rifkin on a panel with Hollywood manager Joan Hyler

It's breakfast time, and at table in the corner of Cafe LimmudLA, Ron Rifkin is sitting talking about his Jewish journey. Ron plays a brother (Saul Holden) on "Brothers and Sisters," and was Arvin Sloane, head of the bad spies, on "Alias." But today he isn't an actor; he's a Jew.

He was raised in New York by Orthodox, immigrant parents. His mother had 14 siblings. He tells us about how he sobbed as he slipped a quarter into the subway slot on Shabbat for the first time at the end of his teenage years, and about how no one helped him when, after his mother died recently at 96, he went to shul to say Kaddish and couldn't remember how to wrap the tefillin around his fingers.

He chants the first few words of his bar mitzvah portion for us -- Noah -- and discovers that two other men at the table have the same portion.

"That's the tie, that's the bond," he says. "There is a connection we have that we all understand, and no one can take that away from us."

He pulls a knitted green yarmulke out of his pocket, sent to him by a fan: "Sometimes, fans come up to me on the subway, and they say, 'You make us proud.' And I know exactly who they are and what they're saying."

I wish I could help you with that, but I'm not watching B&S either

Oh and here is a short statement about one of his Co-stars (the whole Rob Lowe scandal):

Gift Of Life’s Annual Gala, May 15
Published: Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Seventeen years ago, Jay Feinberg, then 23 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia, prompting a major bone-marrow drive in the worldwide Jewish community. “Friends of Jay,” an organization created to help save Jay’s life by finding a match, recruited more than 60,000 donors in four years, yielding matches for hundreds of patients in similar circumstances—but not for Jay. With Jay’s health deteriorating, a final donor drive was held, which finally yielded Jay’s miracle match in the last person tested, Becky Keller (formerly Faibisoff). He received a successful transplant at Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in 1995. Following his recovery, Feinberg continued the work that had been done on his behalf, through the establishment of Gift of Life.

Now, Jay Feinberg is celebrating his “bar mitzvah year” of survival from leukemia at “Partners for Life,” the eighth annual Gift of Life bone marrow foundation gala dinner, on May 15 at the New York Marriott Marquis. The celebration marks not only Feinberg’s survival, but Gift of Life’s success in saving hundreds of lives. Since his successful transplant, Jay has dedicated his life to developing the largest Jewish bone marrow and cord blood registry in North America.

Tony Award-winning actor Ron Rifkin is the MC. The 2008 Partners for Life Award is being presented to Yeshiva University for its continued dedication to Gift of Life’s mission. YU has facilitated more transplants than any other institution via Gift of Life’s campus recruitment program. To date, more than 2,500 students have registered, and 23 have already saved lives via their donations. Accepting the award on behalf of YU students is Richard Joel, president of the univeristy.

Several bone-marrow donors will be introduced to their grateful transplant recipients by Jerome Fisher, founder of Nine West and a prominent philanthropist; Evie Golfine, a cancer survivor who volunteers as a courier for Gift of Life; and Warren Eisenberg, co-founder of Bed Bath & Beyond and currently its co-chairman, also on the board of directors of Gift of Life.

The donor-recipient meetings, taking place on stage in front of 750 guests, were arranged in compliance with practices that protect the anonymity of the involved participants. Following the transplant, donors and recipients are permitted to correspond through letters that are screened for identifying information. If both parties agree, they may meet after a full year has passed. In addition to many notables, the audience will include donors, recipients, volunteers, staff, and financial supporters of Gift of Life.

'Sex and the City' fashion memories
By Dino-Ray Ramos

Article Launched: 05/26/2008 12:02:23 AM PDT

When the blogosphere exploded with pictures from the "Sex and the City" movie, fans went into sartorial shock when photos revealed Carrie Bradshaw (aka Sarah Jessica Parker) in a Vivienne Westwood wedding gown and the ladies donned in silhouette-cinching wide belts — all thanks to costume designer Patricia Field. Just more evidence of the trend-setting ways of this stylish quartet.

The show's eccentrically "haute" sense of style not only intertwined with the characters' story line, but also helped the show reach iconic status. Fashion was often at the center of key plot lines. Here are some of the most fashionable story moments in "Sex and the City" history.

Fashion roadkill

"The Real Me," season four: Carrie is asked to model a pair of nude-colored bejeweled Dolce & Gabbana underwear at a charity fashion show. As she does her best impression of a model, she falls on the runway, but finishes with no shame. The moral of the story? Wearing bejeweled panties in a runway show can give you confidence.

Raiding the Vogue closet

"A 'Vogue' Idea," season four: Carrie struggles to write her first article for Vogue, but finishes with the help of magazine bigwig Julian (Ron Rifkin). When they decide to reward themselves by raiding the Vogue sample closet, she finds a pair of Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes. She also finds Julian modeling a pair of

Versace briefs. Gross.

The foot worshipper

"La Douleur Exquise!" season two: Charlotte's own obsession with shoes escalates to uncomfortable circumstances when a shoe salesman starts to get a little too erotic with her feet. Again, gross.

The fake Fendi

"Sex and Another City," season three: The girls take a trip to Los Angeles and Samantha purchases a "really good" fake Fendi purse. When they go to a Playboy Mansion party, she wrongly accuses one of Hef's bunnies of stealing her bag, causing all the ladies to get kicked out. This is a perfect case of fashion karma.

Who stole my Manolos?

"A Woman's Right to Shoes," season six: After Carrie's Manolo Blahniks are stolen at a baby shower, hostess Kyra (Tatum O' Neal) offers to pay for them until she learns of the $485 price tag. After a lot of civil arguing, Carrie registers for a replacement pair in honor of a "marriage to herself," in retaliation to all of Kyra's past registries. Kyra gives in and buys the shoes. Score one for all the single folks.

Jeans of empowerment

"The Post-it Always Sticks Twice," season six: After giving birth to Brady and working hard, Miranda realizes she can slip into her "skinny jeans" that haven't fit her since 1985. To celebrate, she goes to a bar with her girlfriends, tries to score some marijuana and then eats a sundae which causes the buttons on the jeans to pop.

Oscar de la Renta dress

"The Ick Factor," season six: As Carrie's relationship with Aleksandr Petrovsky (Mikhail Baryshnikov) develops, his overly affectionate ways make her go "ick." When he buys her a glamorous Oscar de la Renta dress for a romantic night at the ballet, she is overwhelmed with schmaltz.

The 'Big' shoes

"I Heart NY," season four: "Hello, lover" spills out of Carrie's mouth as she eyes a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes in a storefront window. She decides to wear them for her last night with Mr. Big (Christopher Noth) before he moves to Napa. Their night is interrupted when Miranda goes into labor and Carrie rushes to see her. Then in a moment of sadness, Miranda's water breaks on Carrie's new shoes. I hope she gave Miranda the cleaning bill.

A Birkin bargain

"Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda," season four: When Samantha becomes the new PR representative for Lucy Liu, she uses her celebrity name to score the purse of all purses: an Hermes Birkin bag. Lucy finds out. Samantha is ashamed. Regretful hilarity ensues.
