I think its my favourite non-LOTR film as well... although that may stem from my absolute love of Ridley Scott films.

I'm pleased, yes, that another Orlando movie thread finally got its second wind. And I agree with Am and Vali.

If it weren't for Pirates, this would be my favorite non-LOTR Orlando film.

Still waiting/hoping for this to show up at the $1 theater ... especially after a huge car repair bill.

It would be just what I need ... a good, cheap film.

That soon?

Did it really do that horribly at the box office?

It didn't do as well as expected, I think.

Oh, and this isn't the director's cut DVD BTW.

I wonder how long we'll have to wait for a directors cut... Scott doesnt exactly churn them out within months of the initial dvd release.

Yeah, I figured that Bel.

Val, the Gladiator directors cut is coming out five years after the original release. So...guage the KoH directors cut on that.

Me too. Pirates would be my second to LOTR, Thoungh KOH comes really close.

It did do good on the box-office, they just expected a lot from a Ridley Scott's movie. That's it.

Can't wait for the DVD. If they released the director's cut, I'd be totally grateful. But the interactive/editable DVD is okay with me.

And the Blade Runner directors cut isnt even scheduled for release, but thats a copyright issue... Ridley wants to do it, but the copyright owners are being a pain in the ass That said, I doubt that Fox are going to squabble about a KOH: DC being released.

True but didnt Ridley say hes not exactly jumping on the project at the moment? Hes probably got more important things to do than DC a mediocre-ly received film.

PoTC is a great movie I agree, but its nothing but eye candy and fun for me. KoH actually presents decently profound questions, and has good moral dilemmas (more profound than..."my father was a pirate, oh god!" anyway) and hence appeals more to me.
