Honestly, I don't think there is anything Joey would not have done to keep she and Pacey afloat (no boat pun intended, there

). It was like she said in the series finale, she always knew. And we found out, in the end, that she always knew it was Pacey. In her heart, she wanted it to be her and Pacey always.

That's part of the reason, I think, they had to make a clean break. Because had it been left to its own fate, Joey would have kept on fighting so hard for him that it would have driven them into the ground. The prom incident was horrible but, in retrospect, Pacey saved them by destroying what the had then. Had he not done it, the would have been irreparably damaged because they couldn't stay young and in love forever. They had to grow up, move on, find themselves, then find their way back to one another.

ITA with you Beth, PJo had to break up, they had to grow up so they could love each other again. PJo is that perfect example of that saying, "if you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were."

But there's also like Nathan and Haley from OTH. They've technically been together for like six years, but there was season 2 when she was off on tour and Nathan was a wreak and in season 3 it took him a while to trust her again. But they were still married, you know? I don't know. They are still going strong in season 6 and they are one of the strongest couples i've seen on television.

Naley still had their problems in season 2. Hayley was e-mailing Chris and kissed him back. Nathan was flirting with Hayley's sister. They even they aren't perfect

what I love about PJ, is that they're all about sacrifices. just like my other OTP (Lucas/Peyton) Its all about selflessness and doing what makes the other person happy. especially considering both couples couldn't immediately be together because they were caught in love triangles. I strongly believe you will always choose the person that doesn't make you choose, and in both instances, one person had to wait for the other to tie up loose ends and come around.

and i think both are tragic couples in a way. both couples had individuals who were tortured souls and had bouts of insecurity and the like, but that was the beauty-they balanced each other out to where they both lifted each other up. plus, both couples split because of a miscommunication, IMO.

I agree, sunchick...they were tragic in a way because of all that happened to them and the circumstances they were put in, but it just makes them all the more better for they eventually, in spite of everything, got back together and were able to rise above, ya know? They are just so perfect that way, to me

Exactly. Joey would've never stopped fighting for him (

) so what he did in Promicide was actually the best thing for them in the long run.

And I love in S4 how sure Joey was of her relationship with Pacey and their future together. I think those instances show that she really has always known, like she said in the finale.

So True, Ali. Like in 404, she's like "I want to stay(in Capeside) and be with you, Pacey!" I'm like, aww! She would stay in Capeside if it meant being with him and then he goes and says "Well that would suck if you stayed here, because i plan to be wherever you are" And he was so in love with her as well and if it weren't for his insecurities, i think they would have stayed together (Even if him breaking up with her was the best at the time) And also, i remember in 417 Joey's like "You're making me promise to let you go!...i can't do that" I swear, those two
