Pretty much. Dawson was a toxic child that kept Joey from growing. Pacey was definitely her future. When she compared them it was basically like comparing a fly to an eagle. I think I'll vote for 2. This makes me realize there are only a handful of S1 episodes where I remember most of what happened in some episodes. I've been drawing a blank of what most of the episodes 2-5 were about but the rest I do lol.

I rewatched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang today and lord at Pacey's speech to Joey. Even I felt the earth move, hearing that again after all these years. The way she was looking at him, looking at her and pouring his heart out. Definitely one of the best P/J moments and speeches from pacey.

Pacey: Did it ever occur to you that maybe I was doing that all for you?
Joey: And how, exactly, do I benefit from your distortion of the truth?
Pacey: Well, maybe I just wanted these people to see you through my eyes just for one night. To see this girl, this woman, who has more class and intelligence and beauty and grace than anyone else who's walking the face of the planet. And maybe things like this just come tumbling out of my mouth because I happen to be head over heels in love with you, but the really scary thing is... I think that they're true.
Joey: Sorry, Pace. I just wanted to impress these people so bad, you know, to fit in, and I completely froze.
Pacey: Hey, that doesn't matter.
Joey: Yes, it does! I've never wanted anything so bad in my whole life. And you--you just fit right in better than I ever will.
Pacey: Because there's nothing at stake for me here, Jo. I have nothing to prove to these people. And Jo, this world, it is opening its doors to you. And when you step through, you are going to be such an amazing part of all of this. And wherever you choose to go, you're doing them the favor, not the other way around.
Joey: You know, your mom should get a medal.
Pacey: Mom? Really, why's that?
Joey: Because she raised a perfect boy. And maybe things like that just tumble out of my mouth because I happen to be head over heels in love with you, but the scary thing is, I think it's true.

Like I said, moments like that just shows how mature, loving, and earth shattering their relationship was in S4. Also showing why they were the love of each other's lives and were so invested in their relationship (which is why when some lie and act like she was all about Dawson, it's sour grapes) Pacey was such a sweet and supportive boyfriend with the things he said to Joey.

I completely agree. Pacey was such a romantic boyfriend. Even when he wasn't giving huge speeches and pouring his soul out to the woman he loves, he managed to sneak in little romantic comments here or there, in their everyday conversations. Just as a reminder of just how much he loved her and how lucky he felt having her.

When she was talking about getting into college. in 4x17 Admissions

Joey: I'm still processing this whole college thing. It's kinda weird to get your dream.
Pacey: Don't I know it. I say that everytime I look at you.

Moments like that is what sent Pacey to the top of everyone's boyfriend list.

Funny as it seemed obvious even in the first season J and P were made for each other. Both fighters. I remember Paceys first relationship was that teacher. Then of course Andy who was equally as important.

Anyone else going to vote? I hated Pacey's icky relationship with that teacher but I didn't mind him and Andie. I was neutral on them, but I couldn't stand her when she became a bitter, hypocritical liar in S3.

I liked Pacey and Andie in Season 2. He was good to her and patient. The part where they are talking through the door when she sees her brother, always gets me. It all changed for me tho, when Pacey rowed up to Joey's pier and held her, when she was crying in 3x01. I never really felt the same way about Andie, after what she did, but I would be lying if I said that during the anti-prom episode, that my heart didn't break for her, just a smidge. When she decided to be a bigger person and told Pacey, "at least you got to dance with her" talking about Joey and seemed like she really and truly meant it, cause she knew it mattered to Pacey. She put her hurt aside for a moment, because she could see Pacey was hurting over Joey. I will always have a bit of respect for Andie, for that moment. Which was the total opposite of Dawson's reaction to Joey dancing with Pacey. He made it harder on Joey. Andie tried to make it easier for Pacey. She won the bitter ex, being a bigger person contest, in that moment.
