Filming Locations - Time in Wilmington

Hey guys,

I spent the weekend in Wilmington. I had a good time cruising some of the old DC spots, and had a quick encounter with Chad Michael Murray at a club called Rum Runners. Anyway, I spent yesterday looking for the house that was used as the Leery House. I know it's somewhere on Hewlett's Creek, but that was as close as I came. Does anyone know the address of the house? If I can't locate an address, I might take my boat down there and run up Hewlett's Creek. Thanks for any info.

P.S. If any of you guys do go to Wilmington to check out some filming sites, it's worth it to head about 20 miles south to a town called Southport, you'll recognize alot there.

---------------

Anyway....as we or some of you know, the show was filmed in several places:

Wilmington, NC

The most commonly known. The bulk of the show was filmed in this city located in North Carolina. Other areas nearby include Southport, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Fort Fisher, and Myrtle Beach, SC.

Myrtle Beach holds the infamous K-Mart used in Castaways

Raleigh, NC

Several things were filmed here, including:

Duke University - Worthington University
RBC Center - Hockey Stadium in Everything Put Together Falls Apart and concert hall in Spiderwebs

I had heard rumors of Franklin St in Chapel Hill, NC being used, but never confirmed it.

Richmond, NC

Boston University in Close Encounters of the First Kind

New York City

Grand Central Terminal among other streets were used in Eastern Standard Time.

------------------------

I've put all of my own pictures of the above areas in a few locations:

Ahhh...Wilmington...The most lovliest city on the face of the earth...Beautiful downtown, beaches, and elegant shops. Plus, good ol' D.C was filmed their. I believe that Nina, and grams still live in Wilmington, along with Mr. Prange. Can't wait to move their this August...May catch some O.T.H filming...Dawson's house. Very hard to find. You have to be careful because it is on private property...Good Luck...

Yes Wilmington is a lovely place. The whole Dawsons' Creek aspect is just a plus, the city has a magical mystique all it's own. It's funny you mention about the house being on private property because I have heard that you can get in trouble for visiting it, and that the locals are very tight lipped about giving up it's location. However, if I cruise up the creek in the boat, I think I'll be ok.

Dawson's House is on private property, but I can tell you how to get there if you really need to know.

Just shoot me over a PM.

I can also tell you how to get to everyone else's house, too. Well, if you're interested.

Hey I'm going to Wilmington at the end of January to look at some OTH/DC locations and it would be great if anyone could tell me some locations of some great DC locations or any other interesting info. that anyone has. I have no idea how to get to Hewlett's Creek from what I've seen off of mapquest but I'm still going to give it a shot. Help with any locations at all is greatly appreciated. <3 Sarah

I absolutely love Wilmington! I have been there twice, and have just fell in love with the town... can't get any prettier I can tell you that! I went down a month or so ago to see some OTH & DC sites. My friend and I were trying to fing THE creek or aka "Hewlett's Creek" but found no luck. We now know around where it might be, but will have to go on a hunt the next time I go down. I wish you the best of luck!

Mandy- You have a PM!

It's been a long time since I posted, but just wanted to let everyone know, I eventually found the places I was looking for in Wilmington. I'm terrible about checking this board, so if anyone has any questions about locations, I'll try to help. Just send me an email.

Hey all-
I'm actually going to Wilmy for the first time in May and I literally could not be more excited!! This trip has been 8 years in coming...problem is, I'm not really sure where to go or anything, so this board is a blessing! Can someone PLEASE give me whatever info they have on DC related things in and around Wilmy?? I'd be forever grateful! No matter how big or small, I'll take whatever I can get. Or does anyone have any good resources I can look at for info?? THANKS!

miss piano, the information center in Wilmington has a guide to all of the sites Dawson's Creek used when filming and where to find it. But a lot of times when you're venturing around town on your own, you will notice locations used because they literally filmed every inch of that town! I hope that helps! But yeah...Wilmington is amazing! You MUST got to Wrightsville Beach! It's so beautiful there!

Cuz Dawson's House isn't on that list. Privacy issues and all.
