My all-time favorite episode is Dirty Dancing (aka Dance), although every first season episode is truly spectacular.

ITA, although I only have that connection with the first two seasons. I was close to your age when I was first introduced to the show (I was 13) and like you, I was hooked from Day 1.

No problem, Anji

My favorite season of Dawson’s Creek was Season One, by a million miles. To me, Season One was unique because it presented a view of teenage life that we could all relate to, with character driven story lines that were both compelling and simple, and each episode was very well written, and built upon the episodes that preceded it, and I can really only describe this season as magic, as it told the stories of first love, first heartbreak, and the struggles of growing up, and the “end of everything simple.” Most of all, though, it told the story of a very special friendship between a young man and a young woman, and how that friendship slowly blossomed into love. I’ve never had a television show affect me on an emotional level like the first season of Dawson’s Creek did, and the seasons that followed Season One simply pale in comparison to the wonderful vision that Kevin Williamson originally presented us with.

Ariel, I adore that ep too! My fav. part is when Dawson Joey are dancing & he looks at her & goes "You're pretty good at this.", I melt every single time! I just love that part! And the ending w/Jen (D/Jen were sweet just in S1), "I wanna be your boy adventure."- I remember that being one of the most original lines I had ever heard on television, I loved it!

Jerry, ITA w/everyone you just said, S1 will always be the best for the most originality to it! It truly was "The end of Something Simple...And the Beginning of Everything Else." & for that, I love Williamson!

Thanks Ariel! I loved Dirty Dancing, and I especially loved the scene on the dance floor between Dawson and Joey. Here's what I said about that scene in a topic I wrote years ago:

That evening, at the school dance, Dawson started dancing with Joey so he could find Jen and Cliff, and as he started to spin Joey around, he found, to his amazement and delight, that Joey was a wonderful dancer, and he pulled her close, and he told her “You’re pretty good at this,” and for one brief, wonderful moment, they stared in each others eyes, and get lost in each other’s tender and loving gazes, and they smiled at each other, until Jen interrupted the moment and broke the spell between them. At that point I, and I'm sure the rest of the collective audience, heaved a big sigh as a golden opportunity was lost. It was at that moment when I first truly fell in love with Dawson and Joey, and I couldn’t wait until they became a romantic couple. I thought it was interesting to note that in this episode, although she was made up to look like a tomboy, Katie Holmes' captivating beauty still shown through, but she looked so different from the sophisticated and glamorous Joey that we came to know in the Pretty Woman episode in that season, and especially from Season Two on, and this episode illustrated for me how much Joey has changed over the years, not only outwardly, but also as a person.
