Pacey and Alex was interesting in season 5. Not even because of the angle of him having a girlfriend, that was actually sad for Audrey, but because it was clear he was sexually harassed at work but it seemed to have gone over his head. It's to a lesser extent almost akin to how he did not realize he was sexually assaulted by Tamara in season 1 (due to statutory rape). However, Josh had some serious chemistry with Sherrilyn, because I sat up straighter in his scenes with Alex than I did in his scenes with Audrey.

Anyone have any ideas as to why Pacey seems to have unresolved issues (up until the finale) with pursuing older women? It's not even that they are older that is the issue. It's the circumstances in which he pursues them. In other words they are his teacher and he is underage, making it illegal, she is his boss at work so it is still wrong morally and possibly legally, or she is a married woman (series finale).

Maybe some part of Pacey was subconsciously seeking sort of maternal approval from those older women. We only see his mother once in S4 and she was emotionally abusive and horrible to him. They say when young women get involved with older men, they have daddy issues. I think it is the same thing.
