| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I loved that she was a little hostile, but she was a good person, who'd suffered a lot, and that explained why she was like she was. And she had layers. Rest of them were pretty much one-dimensional. ![]() I instantly thought of NP and Drue/Jen when you said that. And yeah, I'd like to think they had something great back in NY too, but they were just 2 messed up kids, to really take it seriously or go deeper. And my JB love has got nothing to do with me liking Ed/Leah. All credit goes to some fantastic fanfic writers who totally sold EL to me. Bella has personality only with Jake, and Leah was the only one with the balls to stand and not give a sh-t about E's perfection, and dont forget, they both are tortured too. I love Jake/Leah as well, they were both broken-hearted and so could undertsand each other well, but I havent read BD, and I am too much of a JBer at heart to fully fall for them. And I like Sam/Leah a lot too, so JL has too much competition. Yep, I love my DJ. ![]() __________________ So if you're ever l o s t and | |||

| I don't know if Jen and Drue had something necessarily deeper in NY but I always saw Jen has having a bunch aquaintences but not many actual "friends." I like to think that Drue was that for her and maybe she was that for him...when they weren't scoring drugs, ofcourse. ![]() Bella never has much personality to me. No matter who you saddle her with, she's just not as special as either boy makes her out to be. But you'll have to link me up to that EL fic because I'd definately like to read that.__________________ Beth|icon YT|LJ|ff.net Homeboys Waiting To Happen {KurtღPuck} Revisionist History | |||

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmm, i dont think they were deep either, I just think they were too messed up and tangled with their family issues to even take friendships seriously, but if they did have a few people they could really rely on, Drue would be that person for Jen and vice versa. ![]() I will. I will have to look for them though. I read them a while back. And it all got lost in the storm that was the JB fanfic obsession. ![]() And I agree, Bella is a very weak protagonist, but to me, Jake's Bella >>>> Edward's Bella, and thats why I ship JB. If i didnt like her at all, I wouldnt ship JB at all, cuz I love Jacob too much to ship him with a character I dont respect.__________________ So if you're ever l o s t and | |||

| Well, we know for sure that he kind of liked her back in NY because he said so in Admissions. So I have to imagine that there was something there with them, even if it was the meagerest friendship you can imagine. Maybe commraderie is the best word for it. Two screwed up kids who found each other and just kind of held on out of some little comfort. __________________ Beth|icon YT|LJ|ff.net Homeboys Waiting To Happen {KurtღPuck} Revisionist History | |||

| Actually, I think of the kids on GG and they give me an idea of how I imagine Drue and Jen were. Only Drue and Jen were probably way more damaged. __________________ Beth|icon YT|LJ|ff.net Homeboys Waiting To Happen {KurtღPuck} Revisionist History | |||

| Exactly. Too, Drue and Jen hadn't had the time to know one another that a lot of the friendships on the show had. Dawson, Joey, and Pacey all knew each other from early childhood, Jack and Andie were related so they knew one another for ever. My guess is that she and Drue did not meet until their teenage years, and I think that gave them a completely different dynamic than the other kids had with one another. With all the other kids, the bonds were inherent, natural. For Jen and Drue to attach to each other, it took effort and work, something that I don't think either of them was really ready to offer when they lived in NY. Almost like they were two kids who didn't have a lot of options, saw each other, and just kind of latched on. __________________ Beth|icon YT|LJ|ff.net Homeboys Waiting To Happen {KurtღPuck} Revisionist History | |||

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'd like to think that they had many options, they were a large bunch of kids, misguided and messed up, but Drue and Jen, somehow clicked, and though their exchanges would only be superficial and informal, they still had something which was different. But I agree that they probably met when they were grown up, and already too lost, to bond as well as the kids on the creek did. And like you said, even if they felt lonely, they most likely never wanted to make the effort, they were too tangled up on their own problems to even try and work on their friendships. ![]() __________________ So if you're ever l o s t and | |||

| There situations seem to mirror each other as far as home lives go. Both of their fathers had multiple affairs during the course of their respective marriages and neither one sounded like they were terribly interested in their children's lives until there was trouble. Even then, it seemed like the only thing their fathers did was break them down and make them feel worse. Mrs. Valentine was more of a bitch than Mrs. Lindley seemed to be but it didn't sound like Jen's mom was exactly a sweetheart either. We just never saw it. Drue was used as a bargaining chip in a divorce and Jen was shipped of to no man's land when she misbehaved. It's hard not to be screwed up, even just a little, when you're parents don't care and you're pretty much raised by the nanny. I think, too, that they probably to busy being blitzed and trying to forget their own personal heartache to make long lasting friendships. Jen had a boyfriend too and she probably spent more time with him than anyone. __________________ Beth|icon YT|LJ|ff.net Homeboys Waiting To Happen {KurtღPuck} Revisionist History | |||

but knowing Jen, I think she was attached to him a bit, and so probably never noticed Drue that much, who Im sure felt strongly for Jen, but always held back, cuz well, she was taken, and he was himself too messed up to know exactly what he was feeling, or to want to act on it.__________________ So if you're ever l o s t and

![]() About the show: Well it was made clear that Drue and Jen must have had some sort of friendship. I don't see how Jen would otherwise have told him about what happened with Billy. It's not like it's something you tell to somebody you're not close to in my opinion. Of course, she was trashed so that might be it, but I always like to believe that they had this sort of "tough love" type of friendship. More so that Drue cared for her. I bet she was more in denial about how much he meant to her. ![]() __________________ please don't tell me that

I knew you were awesome. you love Drue/Jen after all. And Jacob too. Woot. And i agree about Bella. But she wasnt that annoying with Jake, and thats why I ship JB, Jake made Bella tolerable. ![]() Jen was never the kind who confided easily, so if she could open up to Drue, there is no doubt they had something strong. And for the reasons I talked about earlier, Drue never told her, and Jen was too caught up in her troubles to notice. ![]() __________________ So if you're ever l o s t and

| Of course I'm awesome. I'm me, duuh ![]() No seriously, I didn't like Twilight so much but my friendlist on LJ kept ranting about it, so I gave in. Jake was the only one who I really LOVED. Oh, and the third book is my favorite. I was a sucker for the Edward/Jacob scene in the tent ![]() And yes, I do believe Jen was too caught up in her issues to it, which is unfortunate. __________________ please don't tell me that | |||
