Because, girls, the real ''Dawson's Creek'' is just S1 and nothing else. S2-6 could never existed at all. Season 1 is like a movie with a beginning, a middle and an end. THE END.

Everything else is like a bad number 2 without sense created only for economic reasons.

What Kevin Williamson really wanted, his world's vision, what is capable of writing, his heart and desidere is...in Season 1. And, in fact, the first season is pratically perfect.

You have no idea how much commercial reasons and network-studios-editors interference destroy TV, cinema and even letterature, today. Except rare exceptions, the stories, at the beginning are largely the writers propretry, then became a totally upper floors proprety with their pressure, notes, contracts ''blackmail''. Money, money and money are the reason of the all destructions. In an ideal world, Kevin Williamson would write S1 and only S1 like, for example: only ''The Silence of the lambs'' would have existed (and not the bad Hannibal or Red Dragon) and million other similar ''number 2 - continuos'' movies, books and situations. So, to me, only S1 really existed. And S1 is pretty much perfect, so, no rewriting is necessary.

Dawson Creek had filmed all 13 episodes before the first one had aired. They had no clue if there was even going to be a season 2. So the first season was written like a mini-series. It had an end, Dawson and Joey get together.

When they were renewed for a 2nd season KW knew he needed some fresh characters, thus you had Jack and Andie added to the mix. Jack to be the boy who challenged Dawson for Joey and Andie to be Pacey's girlfriend. When Kerr Smith (Jack) was hired he was told that he was to be the rival of Dawson. During the season Kerr Smith was called in and told that his character was gay. He was also told if he didn't like they would find someone else to do it.

When the high school years ended they did not know if they were going to be renewed for season five. So they gave season four an ending. Ironically is was an exact copy of how season one was ended. Dawson and Joey making out in his room, The exact same shot as season one and the same music as season one.

Meredith Monroe was brought back at the end of season four to fulfill her original purpose. Be Pacey's girl friend. Pacey acknowledged his debt to her and the groundwork was set for them to resume their relationship.

But they did get a season five and then a season six The series seasons five and six bore no resemblance to the original season. It was a totally different show that should have been re-named Joey's Creek.

Season 5 I liked pacey with Audrey. Season 6 I liked seeing andie back.

Me too, the Pacey/Tamara arc didn't interest me, I like Pacey in season 1 especially his humour but I always felt like he was apart of the group in season 1 mainly because of his lovelife at that period

I think being with Tamara really stunted Pacey's self esteem because he loves her but it was a relationship that would never work out and he could never tell anyone about it

I would rewrite that too, as well as, her cheating on the PSAT exam. I also wouldn't have write her character off the show.
