As was the case with previous releases of earlier seasons, the Season 5 DVD set contains replacement songs from what was heard during the actual broadcast airings. Due to copyright and licensing issues, a couple of the scenes/songs with Katie Holmes and the band have been deleted from the respective episode.

As a reminder, the Season 5 DVD release is set for May 3rd in the US and May 30th in the UK.

Understandings about the DVDs

About Song Replacements
Beginning with the Season 2 release and continuing to the Season 6 release, many episodes will contain new music, replacing various songs from the original airings. Only the Season 1 DVD and the Series Finale DVD releases will contain all the music as originally aired.

Faced with the exorbitant prices of licensing music just for the DVD releases, the show basically had no choice but to to replace some of the songs. This allowed Columbia/Tri-Star to release the sets at an affordable price for all.

There are no plans to release a collective set with the original music intact.

About Songs in Extras
Columbia TriStar has not identified any of the songs and artists used in the DVD extras. The songs are part of a licensed music library made available to television and movies and are usually not available commerically.

Hi thereeeee!

I have tried to get to the easter egg on the final DVD, but am unable to access it. Does anybody know if this feature works on the UK edition of the DVD? We don't have an "enter" button on our remote so would "Play" or "OK" do? Does anybody know any other way to access these features??

Lulah- I have the UK one too, and yes I think I just pressed play or ok or something along those lines. But it does work

I feel the same way! Even though Season 5 will be one that I most likely won't watch very often, I have to have them all to finish the collection. Finish what I started.

Does anyone know when the season 5 dvd will be released in the uk??? Can't wait to get it!! And then season 6, I didn't really get a chance to watch that season properly, so I am soooooo excited!! Especially to watch Joey and Pacey back together again!! Yay!!! heehee

From what I can remember when the buzz was going on about Season 5, the release date for the UK was at the end of this month. But, I haven't heard if that were true or not.

jkupc it depends if you are one of those people, like me , whose only purpose in buying it is to complete their Dawson's Creek collection. But if it's not that big of a deal, I'd suggest taping the few good ones on TBS cuz it's definitely the worst season BY FAR.
