I forgot about Todd! Yes he was a saving grace of that season I think.

The anti-DJness of it
Wouldn't quite go that far. Yes the writers broke DJ up and there was some amoninsity but in the end they made sure that the bond between Dawson & Joey was still strong. I'll always thank them for that dock scene in the finale

How much I hated Eddie. Joey's ''I Don't Feel It'' Speech
Both I agree on. Joey's 'I Don't Feel It' Speech was hilarious. Perfect anti PJ material. But it proved to me why Pacey & Joey shouldn't have ended up together. And as for Eddie, I tried to care. I really did but I couldn't. I didn't like his character to start with and I just wasn't invested in their relationship. I wanted to know who Joey would really end up with and Eddie wasn't going to be in the mix.

Well it is my opinion. I didn't see a strong bond between Dawson and Joey since season one. For me, every DJ scene is an anti-DJ scene. Simple as that.

More than I thought I would. But it really didn't start to be "Creek"-like until the later half of the season.

Who was your favorite character in season 6?
Pacey. (Heh.)

What made the season stand out to you?
It was a real up in the air season. I've said it before, but this season was like Season 3 redux for me. If you go along the episodes, you'll find a lot of similar aspects/parallels and practically the same situations going on with each episode.

E.G.

#314 - Random party episode, Drunk!Pacey tries to make it clear to Joey (Dawson) that their little "tryst" is not really working out and then upon getting sober, makes the clear realization of his true feelings for Joey.

#614 - Random party episode, Drunk!Joey tries to make it clear to Pacey that her little thang with Eddie is not really working out and then upon getting sober, kisses Pacey and has the slightest reveal that she's still into him, too.

Weird, no? (You'll see it with the other episodes, too.)

Did season 6 live up to your expectations?
Oh, hells yeah. *cough* winners!

Did you like it better or less than season 5?
OMG. Way better than season 5. That was seriously a train wreck of a season, and the cast though so, too.

So we'll call that "pimp your couple" . Basically this is the occasion to tell us who's your favourite couple is; why you like them and why we should too Just remember that this isn't the right thread to be anti or to attack other posters about their opinions. This is just about having fun and sharing what we love about the show

Pacey and Andie
realistically portrayed...you could see the slow turn from hatred to friendship to dating to falling in love...

Dawson and Jen (S5)
both had matured since their previous relationship and were very much in the same place during that season...they just seemed to click

Pacey and Joey

This was just something that I've wanted from the first season and eventually gave it up because I fell in love with Pacey/Andie.
Once season 3 came by, i quit watching after the second episode because
1) The couples of the show weren't getting back together, especially my favorite at the time and
2) I didn't see the P/Jo subtleties that were obviously forming from the very first episode that season.

Wingster, like you said about Pacey/Andie, i feel the exact same way about Pacey/Joey.
There was no backstory, it was all on screen. We literally got to see them from the early banter, to the sometimes cruel words, to being genuine friends to falling in love. It was a long process and one that even during season 1, we got to see greatness.
Many people will say how they were enemies... well notice how i avoided those words because i never thought for even a moment, that that's what they were to each other.
Enemies don't offer words of comfort, enemies don't come and cheer u up when you're having problems with your father... they had amazing friendship moments in season 1:
Baby, Double Date, Boyfriend, Decisions...
I'm just thinking back to Decisions when instead of Pacey telling Joey what to do... he knew EXACTLY what to say in order to do what she needed to do. He told her about a hard moment in his life that he never told anyone, one that hurt him deeply and with that alone, she had all the answers. They are so much alike, yet so different.

In season 3... the slow process building up was what kept me up for almost 15 hours straight watching. I remember that night like it was yesterday. I had work the following morning and i had about 2 hours of sleep because I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next between them. Season 3 may of had its problems, but their story was written flawlessly.
In season 4, their relationship was absolutely amazing. I loved how their arguments and fights stemmed from internal conflicts and insecurities like average teenage kids do.
Pacey was definitely immature, no doubt about it, but it's perfectly normal. through it all, one thing never changed. they were definitely in love. They had a bad initial break up, but post break up, it was magical to watch. Even their good-bye left us with hope.
Season 5 had its moments too. Not a great PJo season, but nonetheless, i appreciate that they could move forward instead of going back to the way they were before they started dated.
In season 6, it was pure hotness. The feelings started to resurface and certain things just made me believe that they were 100% meant to be.
Eddie coming back had no effect on me except seeing the look on Pacey's face. It needed to happen and it coincides with not only what she told pacey in the series finale, but to go along with what we've seen all series long. Joey does run away from him and this just proved it.
its so difficult for me to put it all into words, but i did make a video once explaining why i felt PJo were the perfect choice and why its the only thing that makes sense.
its the kitchen scene in the series finale compiled with scenes throughout the series... just if you want to see:

Love the video Shira It really shows what the whole speech was about. i'll come back tomorrow to post about Pacey and Joey because it could be quite long and i'm sleepy right now.

But ITA with everything you said Shira! About the buildup and everything.

And wingster i really like Jen and Dawson in season 5 too.

While I love PJo, and seeing as I started out shipping them I will always have a special place for them in my heart, Pacey and Jen are definately my OTP.

They had amazing chemistry, both platonically and romantically. Their physical chemistry was palpable, even though they both claimed that there was no spark between them at the beginning of 3.09. No one, and I mean no one, shared steamier kisses than Pacey and Jen did. I would go as far as to say that that was the hottest action Dawson's bed ever saw. But they were more than just two kids tangled in some sex pact. They tried to deny it but there were feelings behind it. Pacey and Jen cared about one another. The way he always allowed Jen to lean on him, and she did the same for him. One was always reassuring the other, telling one another that each was was good enough and worthy of love and adoration. They shared secrets and fears. She was the person he trusted with his love for Joey in S3 and he was the one she cried to when she was afraid of dying and leaving Amy behind.

They had one of the show's most amazing, and amusing, friendships on the show. I think if they had been allowed to explore a real relationship, they could have been just as amazing.

I loved Pacey and Jen too, Beth. They had great chemistry, but especially as friends IMO. I think that if they did have a romantic relationship (beyond sex pacts lol), I wouldn't be able to resist loving them together.

Still, Pacey and Joey will always be my one true pairing. And not just my favorite couple from Dawson's Creek... my favorite couple period. I'm not as articulate as Shira as she took the words right out of my mouth! I'll just second what she said about PJ. And that video... . It says it all!

I can't decide between PJo and DJo. I'll go for both. With PJo, Kate and Josh had chemistry like no other whilst DJo was just really well written and well developed.
