It's been a while, but I think Drue/Jen did hang out more at the end of S4, but they never became a couple.

The only other thing I can remember them arguing about was about sleeping together so in that respect, I felt it was unrealistic but hey maybe that's just the DJer in me

I loved Dawson in this season. I think he was the best character at this point.
this, Liz. this. Dawson grew up a lot. I liked seeing him mature.

the constant fighting every freaking episode about the same things over and over never resolving anything before the credits roll. I didn't like how dawson was blamed for PJ's problems.

PJ didn't blame Dawson for their problems. He was an issue for them, sure, but Dawson wasn't their only oroblem. Pacey had his own issues with the future getting into college and his parents' lack of support. Joey had her own issues about college and fitting in. Pacey and Joey fought about these issues and they did overcome some of them but they were young and had growing up to do. And they didn't have fights in every episode. Every couple fought a lot on this show, but I think PJ was the most realistic. It's a drama, without fighting and having problems, couples would have no conflict and eventually no show. I rather have fighting about problems than cheating and bed hopping like other shows.

Dawson had his ups and downs in this season. Every character did. I did like Dawson and Gretchen.

^^^Agreed, I don't get why they keep repeating that over and over again. Especially when they did resolve their problems. Dawson and Joey were the ones that usually left things unresolved all the time. I also agree every couple fought on the show, and I feel Mitch/Gale and Dawson/Joey had the most fights, nastiest too. Every couple fights, and I feel just like as a couple in general, their fights were realistic and mature. Some were gritty and had to be brought up. Like in a Winter's Tale when Pacey was real and brought up there is that part of her heart that will always belong to Dawson and invisioning her first time with him. That sucked but it was real and had to be tackled and brought up. Couples fight, it is what it is *shrugs* lol. Oh I'm glad Pop is now at the episodes of S4 before those aholes ABC Family pulled the plug. So back to my rewatching.

There was a lot about S4 that I liked, but then there were things in every season that I liked too.

I was totally invested in the PJo relationship after the build up from S3, so all of their scenes were fun for me (exception being Promicide), even with the arguing. I felt the passion in their arguments and they always came back to reinforce their relationship more afterward.

I liked Dawson with Gretchen, he grew up a lot in S4. I didn't even mind Drue that much either.

PJ never resolved anything when they fought, they kept fighting about the same things over and over, that's what I viewed. Its boring to watch them fight in circles before the credits roll. Yes all couples fight and DJ fights, but so does PJ. They had problems too. How she makes him better I'm not seeing. they were always so unhappy together and he regresses a lot with her. Yes season 3 I liked, but I've never seen more vicious fighting than PJ. every freaking episode, it wasn't just one or two. how is that real? How are they overcoming anything? Everything would always circle between them. I've never seen any couple in my life fight like
PJ does. never.

I didn't mind their arguing. either! Those were some of their best acted scenes and they had some great make up scenes after they resolved a particular issue. I just loved their fireside scene in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and their conversation in Self Reliance when Joey said they grew up together, and Pacey said she should talk to Dawson.

It's in S6 but I loved their fight in Sex and Violence right before the big couch make out in Pacey's office.

^^^I agree, from what I remember of Self Reliance, Pacey was very mature in how he handled Joey's confusion over Dawson/Gretchen. I also love Sex and Violence, it's not as loved as Castaways but I just love how funny the episode is and once again shows their banter. I loved their little fight where Pacey pushed her buttons about being a bad, jealous secretary before they started making out on the couch lol.

In those three scenes you mention, they weren't even fights and only one of them mentioned Dawson. Funny.

I have to agree, their fighting in season 4 was realistic and something that every couple goes through. If a couple doesn't fight sometimes, that's what would worry me!

Pacey and Joey went through a lot during this season and it was all a part of growing up too.

I'm sorry I don't agree. 4.07 is on tomorrow. How many fights about the same things in circles? what about the lying and jealousy? Joey is always jealous of who dawson's with, never pacey. Every episode of season 4 was a freaking fight about the same things over and over and they never resolved anything when they fought. that is what's boring. but whatever.

I just don't think 4x07 was that bad. The PJ argument in that episode didn't last long. I think it turned into a honest talk about Pacey wanting to be the person who knows Joey best and I don't think that was wrong of him, And they had a great resolution scene at the end of the episode. Did the issue of Dawson go away completely? No, but I think at the end of the day the show was about a group of childhood friends figuring out how they fit into each other's lives as they enter into adulthood and that isn't solved overnight, but everyone sees the show differently.

They keep fighting about the same things in 4.09 and 4.10 its getting boring. how is she making him a better person? I'm not seeing it. they're not resolving anything. things are constantly circling between them. I do like dawson/gretchen though.

Well, that's okay. I just don't see it that way. Pacey was already a good person. Joey believed in him, I think she made that clear, but he had to believe in himself first. I think Joey said something along those lines in S5. No one was going to make him feel better about himself for the long haul if he kept being insecure.
