Favourite Lines

Pacey: Do you have any idea how lucky you are, Dawson? You got eighteen years with him.
That's a helluva lot more than some people get. And this guy... he did an awesome job.
He raised you into someone people love, respect and admire.
Why am I doing this? Because once upon a time, we were best friends.
And, yes, there's been a lot of bad stuff in between.
But none of that matters right now, okay? You need me, I'm there. Any time, any place, anywhere.

Jen: So this is what I'm going to do: I'm going to hug you.
And I'm not going to let go for a really long time.
And I'm going to tell you that I love you.
Which is actually a pretty good deal.
Because it means I'll do anything on the off chance it'll make you a little less sad.

Joey: I know this probably doesn't mean much right now, but he's not really gone, you know.
If ever there was someone who was an absolute reflection of his father, it's Dawson.

If you want to add anything to the opening let me know! :)

I  Season 5 and I'm sure I'm in the minority as I have read that it wasn't the favourite season for some. It was never going to be like the previous four seasons granted and it wouldn't be the same but I still enjoyed it immensely.

I was stunned when I read the spoiler for Mitch's death. Couldn't believe that was to happen but imo, one of the best and well acted episodes of DC ever. So heartbreaking, I cried all the way through.

Emily 03-01-2007 06:22 PM

Yeah this season wasn't too popular it seems :look:

omg that episode was one of the best of season five for definite, it made me cry my eyes out and was one of JVDB best performances imo, seriously in that episode, he really just amazed me.

Lovely banner Kel! :)

CookieMonster 03-01-2007 08:49 PM

I liked season 5 too. Okay I loved all the seasons. I'm obsessed!

When it Mitch died it definitely was a well acted episode. It broke my little heart though.

My fave episode was Appetite for Destruction. I love the episodes when they're all in one room together. I love watching them interact with each other. And I love Pacey and Jack talking about whether or not Jen and Dawson had sex.

Pacey: You know we almost did once
Jack: I know. I know. Come to think of it, we almost did once to.
Pacey: What do you think it takes?
Jack: Virgin and a straight guy.
Pacey: Damn

-Kelly- 03-01-2007 08:55 PM

This season was ok but not too great

I did love the Pacey and Dawson scene, in The Long Goodbye  where they were sitting togetter and talking.
And afterwards Pacey taking Dawson for a drive to the crash site :( talking to him and telling him that it wasn't his father's fault

Thanks Emily  I love your 4 banners too :)

omg i loved that scene from Appetite for Destruction. josh and kerr crack me up  i also loved their scenes in In A Lonely Place
PACEY: This is unbelievable. Completely unbelievable. There are many levels on which I should be offended here.
JACK: Pacey, you're not gay.
PACEY: Yeah, but he doesn't know that. I mean as far as he knows, you're my boyfriend.

Season 5 is my favorite season because of the lack of drama. you can just relax and get to see all of the characters without having to deal with the angst. i loved that the writers brought back the d/j romance and longing and i liked d/jen's relationship. audrey was great in S5. and oliver

CookieMonster 03-02-2007 03:21 PM

I loved Jack and Pacey in In A Lonely Place.

Pacey: I know they're up there just pimping away right now.
Jack: Primping, not pimping.
Pacey: I know what I said.

Pacey: For the first time I understand what it's like to be a woman, a really hot woman.
Jack: Not that hot.
Pacey: Really?

That gay bar was funny, Pacey didn't know where he was :lmao: and the talk between them two, too  so funny

"!True&Love!" 01-29-2008 12:47 PM

the jack/pacey scenes in lonely place are hiliraous

milestogo 01-03-2011 06:23 AM

Unpopular opinion (I guess) but I loved that season, especially the Dawson and Dawson/Jen storyline

Ali 01-05-2011 12:57 AM

I loved parts of S5. I liked that everything was new and different from the first four seasons but I kind of hated it at the same time lol.

DJen were probably the best part of it. :D And the Pacey/Jack stuff. Audrey was a great addition too.

milestogo 01-05-2011 08:14 AM

I didn't love all of it  But overall I like it

Burn Our History 01-06-2011 08:54 PM

I enjoyed parts of it.

I thought the Pacey/Jen stuff was adorable, and I wish they'd had more face time. I thought they'd get it due to the fact that she was the first person to know he was in Capeside.

Actually, that may well be the extent of what I liked about the season. I guess I was really ambivalent about it because they made no secret out of making Joey the focal character on the show.

milestogo 01-10-2011 11:01 AM

Oh yeah I hated that part too

I loved DJen and I loved Audrey so I guess I can't hate this season. And unpopular opinion probably but I enjoyed seeing Pacey having a storyline that didn't involve Joey as much as it did the previous season. He's a character I love and I was happy to see him having a different storyline.

Ali 01-11-2011 08:05 PM

The random girls got old, but I did love Chef Pacey. :D

Idk why they made Joey the focal character after four seasons of it centering around Dawson. I do think she's more likable, but it's still a bit weird and didn't quite feel right.

milestogo 01-12-2011 12:04 AM

I like Dawson more than Joey so I'll disagree but you already know that
There weren't that many random girls for Pacey, I remember a couple before Audrey but that's it

It might be because they based Dawson in LA initially, so it would of been hard to make him to focal point considering all of the other main characters were in Boston. All of his scenes were with brand new characters, at least some of Joey's were with Jen/Jack/Grams and of course Audrey being added to the main cast. It's as if they had to choose someone based in Boston to take on the lead role and naturally they chose Joey for this.

At the time it made sense to send Dawson to LA considering that's what he'd been working towards it all of his life but in reality maybe the convenient film school in Boston he later attended should have existed from the start. I mean it was was inevitable they would all end up in the same place, they had to for the show to work. DC is mostly about friendship so I didn't really enjoy Dawson's scene's in LA, it just didn't feel right, him being there on his own. :look: I liked it when he moved back to Boston and embarked on his relationship with Jen, he was more likeable than ever before when this happened.

Ali 01-12-2011 12:48 PM

Agreed. DJen in S5 was pure .

But they didn't have Dawson in LA for even one entire episode in the beginning of S5. He came back at the end of 501. So no need to change the focal character for that reason.

I didn't like him sleeping around with Melanie Shae Thompson (blah, I really hated her lol). Or Gina/Rina. Or kissing Alex. He also slept with Karen. In the past he was more of a relationship guy. I was glad he settled down with Audrey, even though I thought they were a mismatch for the longrun. Still, they were fun.

milestogo 01-12-2011 07:25 PM

Well I think I blocked those girls out of my mind :lmao: Cause I didn't remember that many.

I think James asked for some time off that season to work on some stuff. So maybe that's also why they shifted the focus on Joey. I still think they should have distributed that screentime better between the characters

That's interesting and makes a lot of sense. I agree with you, it would have been nice to see an equal amount of Joey, Jack, Jen and Pacey (if they had decided Dawson wouldn't feature as the main character).

It's not even as if Joey's stuff was that interesting, I mean the whole Professor Wilder thing was blah. :blank: The only scene with them I liked was the last one, when he published her story. I did love her relationship with Audrey. It was lovely watching them grow close, they had some lovely and quite funny moments.

S6 was better for Joey I think.

milestogo 01-13-2011 07:58 AM

I wasn't a huge fan of Joey by the time season 5 aired (she was my fav until season 3 though) but I wouldn't have minded more screentime if her storylines were actually interesting. I like her friendship with Audrey but actually what I loved the most about it was Audrey
I would have loved to see more of my favourite characters (Jen, Jack, Dawson) but I know I'm being selfish here

Rachey1984 01-13-2011 12:57 PM

What made you change your mind about Joey?

Ali 01-13-2011 04:19 PM

I agree about Joey's SL this season. It wasn't so great. I could've cared less about Prof Wilder, and I actually love that actor when he's doing comedy. The Joey/Nice Guy SL was lame as well. Also DJo and Joey/Charlie... actually just Charlie in general, blah. Hated the PJo amnesia, but I'm glad they still had their friendship. It could've been worse. Like S2, complete isolation lol. I too loved her friendship with Audrey. She changed my life, you know. Audrey was the perfect person for Joey to experience college with. She really pushed her buttons, in a good way.

milestogo 01-13-2011 07:22 PM

So many things  The triangle pretty much killed her for me actually, they way she treated both boys, I had a hard time understanding her. After season 4 she should have stayed low for me to love her again and he didn't happen.

Audrey was one of the best thing about season 5

Rachey1984 01-14-2011 10:08 AM

Joey and Charlie was just so wrong....and so predictable that he would "fall in love with her" However Jen and Charlie I LOVED. They had great chemistry and their episodes (before he became the womanizer from Boston Bay) were so cute. I would have liked to have seen them last a bit longer actually.

But then later came Dawson and Jen which I adored so I guess it's not so bad. :)

Awww, couldn't agree more. I loved their friendship.
