S3 is the best season, and the beginning of the best love story and couple of the show IMO.

Season three ended up being my favorite season of the show.

Apparently you can watch the series on Dailymotion too. They mention it here and check the comments cause it confirms that these have the Original music,

Oh I understand what you mean. Absolutely! That whole Eve storyline is so weird and bothering.
But don't give up, season 3 is getting better and better, trust me. Hope you go on watching and tell us what you think about this season. It's exciting to see how a newy thinks about Dawsons Creek after 20 years. I watched it when it first aired, I was 16. And I am re-watching it 1 or 2 times a year :D sometimes just the last couple of episodes of season 3

Enjoy!!!!

I was watching them on Amazon Prime, but found the episodes with the real music on the Internet thanks to some folks keeping some ancient "Collection" torrents alive...

I can't believe how much different the show is with the original music.. When about half the show is overlaid with such great tunes, The proper music fuels the nostalgia overload just as much as some of the subject matter. The alternative music tracks aren't all that bad, they're just not recognizable, so don't hit the same buttons as the originals.

Watching Prime/Netflix/DVD versions.. "Great story, nice background music..."
Watching Version w/ Original Music- "Great story, and foreground music that helps tell the story"

These "high school" characters were/are far more articulated/smarter than most of my college friends; IMHO, The fact that only a small portion of this love-story actually revolves around high school topics preserves the watch-ability of the show., even after 20 years. If it was really loaded with a bunch of high-school drama, it'd be a bit harder for this self-respecting 30something to watch.

The Joey-College kid w/ soulmate girlfriend arc was almost as ridiculous as the Eve storyline, but fortunately was over quickly and righted the course for the season.

Anyway, I just finished Season 3 and was sold on the Pacey-Joey idea pretty early on, there were a few gestures he made where the onions got me a little (renting the wall), but overall I enjoyed the season 3 finale. (It seems the Mitch-Gail wedding could have been its own episode instead of a half-assed cram-it-into-half-a-really-important episode though, especially since they spent half a season covering their divorce)

If I have any more feedback to share on the following seasons, I'll post to the appropriate topic instead of the music topic..

Cheers!

Oh, that's great that you are able to watch the episodes with the original music. Looking forward to hear more of your thoughts on the show.

I actually loved the eve story arc. But I can definitely see how others would hate it. I was a 12 year old boy and totally obsessed with dawsons Creek at the time. I just remember thinking she was hot lol but rewatching it later in life you can just feel the difference between the 1st 2 seasons and the rest of the series. That's when Kevin Williamson left the show and it started to have a whole new vibe. I remember reading an article about how the cast was losing faith in the writers and it was actually the pace Joey story arc that regained their trust. I've been watching the show young Americans with will krudski from season 3 a little bit this summer and it's made me want to go back and watch it. Im so glad new fans are finding the show. I look forward to hearing what you think about the rest of the series. Let me know if you need any help with episodes with original music

I enjoy hearing from those who watched DC when it first aired. I was only introduced to it in 2012, so have only seen the DVD versions. I still love it and my nostalgia is with the new music, so when I see a clip on Youtube with the original music, it sounds weird.

I think this is the first time I've heard anyone say they liked the Eve storyline, very interesting, but I get why a 12 year old boy would like Eve. :D

This is a video about the Dawson's Creek Concert on the Creek event hosted by Josh and Michelle. It's quite interesting and of course the music is all the original. There is even footage of Paula Cole talking about the use of her song.

Thanks for that! It's interesting.

Hey everyone. Been busy last few months writing and more writing. Had this new idea come to me and just so passionate about it.
I've had many film and TV ides which are all noted down but never done anything. This one though I feel it needs to be told and seen and if it gets my foot in the door, then I have the rest of my stuff to show the world.

Anyway its a small series 8 episodes. Already planned every detail out, first episode is written, everything is connected. Its set in the 90's.

Now I started thinking of storylines for Season 2 and one of them was a roadtrip where they end up in Capeside during the Summer just before Series 3 so Dawson is away with his Mum and before the whole Eve stuff happened. What did Pacey get up to though that Summer, his waiting on Andie, and his started got close to Joey.

Would be awesome if with hair and make up, they could make Josh look like his Series 3 Pacey and have him cameo, be an awesome dream come true kinda moment.

JJH85 09-29-2018 08:29 PM

I'm down for anything with Pacey in it.

Anybody have access to the show with the OG music?

Sadly not.

The one track I always liked that was on the official soundtrack, is Jessica Simpson's Did Your Ever Love Somebody? which played in Pacey and Andie's first kiss scene. :in_love:
