I read she turned it down, but my own theory is that they didn't offer it to her because of the antics she and Tom pulled when she was promoting Batman Begins and what said on David Letterman when promoting the film as well.

See, I just assumed they didn't offer it to her because none of the Batman movies had a female character stick around.

They brought the character of Rachel back, she was in the first one and was going to be in the second one. Christopher Nolan's batman movies are so much more different then the other ones because those were more..so..character type, if that makes sense, plus they always changed directors and the actors to play Batman.

Katie was contractually obligated to be in a Batman Begins sequel if one was made. She wasn't in The Dark Knight because they didn't want her back. She had no choice in the matter.

That makes sense.

I really can't blame them for not wanting to deal with the T/K backlash.

I think its sad that that Tom and katie have been together for 3 years and people are still giving them a hard time.

To be honest I understand why people did at the beginning. I hate when people use the press to promote something and I do not care for celebs couples I think that they made bad choices back then

That was in the past and the "craziness" has died down. But the media won't let them go just to sell magazines.

Because people feel entitled to them because they consider celebrities, and their families, "public property." I am with you. RL celebrity couples are a novelty to me, at best. Sure, they're nice to look at in pictures and, sure, you like to see your favorite actors and actresses happy. Beyond that, though, I don't see why people care so much.

The one and only thing that truly bothered me in regards to Tom and Katie is the way the press question Suri's paternity. In my book, that is taking things way too far. Kids should be off limits.

I'm with you. But maybe I'm biased because I'm a fan of Tom Cruise as an actor.

It annoys me that the press blames him for her problems. Like she can't be held accountable for herself and her career? But I forgot... he's controlling her, she can't escape his reign.

Wow, that's just pathetic.

Did anyone watch the first episode of JVDB's new mini series?
