Argh, the finale speech, what a joke, and really, like Cris said it wasnt even funny. It was the freakin finale, I dont know what Im more apalled with, the fact the TPTB actually went ahead with a PJ ending or the fact that so many bought it.

I know, there was so many things wrong with the finale, another thing that I can't stand is what they reduced Pacey to. A man who sleeps around with taken women. Seriously, they made Pacey a jerk in the finale, when in Kevin's version, he was a great guy who stood up for his friends. He was so incredible when he was with Andie. Also, Joey was reduced to being a girl who had no backbone and self respect. She slept with Pacey, thinking that it would make her more sure of their relationship, but it didn't. Ugh, so much bitterness and shattered hopes about how Dawson's Creek ended.

That's pretty much all I did with those posts. I think the thing that made it harder to believe (aside from all of the above) is that they fast forwarded 5 years after season 6 and had literally no one in contact anymore. And then they suddenly meet up and everything is supposed to be right with PJ again? 2 minutes ago she "didn't feel it".

It is so absurd! One of their last scenes together had Joey telling Pacey she wanted to be a part of his life, not exactly the way he wanted her to:

Joey: Well, you have a person sitting right here, don't you? But of course, that's not enough. Not until you let it.

Pacey: In what world do I have you?

Joey: Look, just because I don't fit into that... place you want me to doesn't mean there's not a place for me, Pacey.


She loved him as a friend and she said that out loud, so how that turned out to be "running away from her one twu luv" I'll never understand

You gotta be kidding me, she actually said that in the finale? Jeez, what kind of slipshod writing is that?! Man, whoever was writing the finale, was high on something!

That bit wasnt in the finale, it was in the episode before that one, when Joey leaves both Dawson and Pacey and goes to France. I loved the DJ scene in that episode, it was so evident how much they loved each other and even PJ had closure, how I wish the show had ended then.

And I will still not buy that after 5 years, Pacey or Joey still loved each other. No freakin way. DJ still could, though I think I wouldnt have wanted to see them getting together in the finale, just deciding to, maybe, cuz 5 years is a long time, really long time.

Dawson and Joey had so much that was unresolved. It was Dawson that Joey was running away from, not Pacey. Jeez, who wanted them to end up together? It was Kevin Williamson's show, he wanted Joey and Dawson to end up together, but no, instead we get a couple that never worked, to be the end game ship. Ugh...

That entire speech in the last scene was about DJ, its no rocket science really...its a laugh to even suggest that it was written for PJ, or if even a word of it made sense coming from them. Such a shame TPTB almost got away with it though, but we know what they did, we know what cheap trick they pulled and kept the couple that belonged together, from each other, and gave their happy ending to a couple that was horribly wrong, throughout.

I agree with everything you said there. It was dirty trick to change the script like that at the last second. Yes, I think that it was a last second change that they made in an attempt to be clever. They tried so hard to redefine the word soulmate. Umm, you can't TPTB.

I know. How pathetic. They tried to invent a new meaning for "soulmate" just so that could justify their dumb move of having PJ together in the end.

And it was a last minute thing, clearly, they didnt even change the dialogue to suit PJ, it was terribly inconsistent and just plain blasphemy.

Heh, preach on V! I'm so glad that my fellow anti PJ is back, you really make this fun and easy. You really know how to deconstruct this pairing and take apart every little peice. It makes it easier to be a DJ defender.

I can rip these two part forever. There was a world of wrong with them, I dont even know where to begin. And its good to have a fellow anti-PJer to talk to, its fun mocking these two, cuz now I cant even get angry over all this mess, it was all so ridiculous.

I know, it was so ludicrous in the first place. They turned the whole series on its head just for sake of making these two a couple. They only stayed together for about...A season? Dawson and Joey were like Drue Valentine said...

PJ were invented only as an obstacle to DJ, a horrid idea, but maybe I couldve lived with it, it was the fact that they were thrown at us again in S6, and were the supposed endgame is what I cant stand.

They were so over in S4, I mean, in every episode after they returned from the boat trip, we got to see how terribly wrong and ill-suited they were, and how Joey's heart belonged to Dawson, why would TPTB even think that having them back in S6 was a good idea, or worse, that them as endgame would work, the FAIL they were was clear in every scene they were together in.

And more truer words have not been spoken, Drue sure knew what he was talking about.
