^^Exactly she kept saying over and over again that Dawson made her feel as if she was forever stuck as the 15 year old girl who would never grow up. He was a good guy but honestly she could never move forward as a woman. And there was nothing new and exciting about her relationship with Dawson, they'd been through everything before they began their romantic relationship. Honestly from the moment they got together all they did was fight and it was always the same. Joey would complain how they were stuck in limbo and she could never find out who she was as long as she was with him and Dawson never understood her or her motives. With Pacey it was new, and she felt like a woman, and she felt something new and that was a source of great attraction. It makes sense she ended up with Pacey, she needed to grow up.

I'm a diehard PJo fan, but still I never minded Pandie because it never took away from Pacey growing as a person but I felt DJo forever restricted Joey to the girl next door.

And I love it wasn't just about sex between Pacey and Joey, they were so complete. They had the lust and the love, they had the friendship and the understanding. DJ lacked the lust and the understanding. Wrong couple.

But I def love those little anti moments...when Dawson is so oblivious about her feelings in Detention, when Joey refused to go with him to L.A. in Swan Song, the way they sang Daydream Believer in Stolen Kisses in a childish way while at the end the same song sounded in a more mature version when she was kissing Pacey

LOL of course she was never his type, I don't know why they ever went there it only turned out as a disaster. To me she was meant to be romantically connected to Pacey and while Dawson might have been someone she was connected it was clearly always on a platonic level and deep down both of them knew this. There was no racing desire to be intimate with each other in a way men and women are; it was all so baseless and innate between them lol.

ITA about Dawson's dreams... they were so telling. One of my favorites was the one where he dreams Joey and Jack get engaged and go off to Hollywood together. "But you're gay!"

Dawson knows Joey's "favor face" () but he's the only person in the room who can't see that she had feelings for him.

There was nothing keeping Joey in Capeside but she still turned down his offer to spend the summer with him. That was supposed to be a Pro-DJ moment (I'm assuming) but again it goes back to the fact that almost every time they were on our screens it was anti-DJ.

You make such a good point about the contrasting DJ and PJ scenes with that song. It's like night and day.

How could I forget! They are so sad, really. Their actions were constantly contradicting their proclamations.

I don't believe that they ever were truly in love with each other at anytime over the series. They were just obsessed with the idea of being in love with their best friend and obsessed with the term "soulmates"... to the point of nauseum.

I definately agree, it was so telling how Joey and Pacey barely got along in season 1, and yet he understood her on a fundamental level. He was one of the first people to pick up on her feelings for Dawson while he supposed "soulmate" had no idea what she was feeling for him
