They stopped "knowing" each other when they started dating, It ruined whatever they had.

I dont think Dawson and Joey wanted to know each-other anymore. Well..more so Joey, cause all Dawson was fixated on was Joey the little 15 year old girl that had a crush on him and Joey was more so ready to grow up and move on.

So rewatching some season 3 here and seriously could it be any more obvious that Dawson actually dont know Joey at all??? he thinks she would love him for almost killing someone and then he can't even see how unhappy she is dancing with him at the anti-prom. She seems so depressed its not even funny and she is almost crying but still he doesnt care. What kind of soulmate or whatever is that???

and ITA Farina, I think they stoppped knowing each other or even wanting to after they got together. Joey moved on romantically she wasnt seing him like that at all and he still sees her as a 15 years old girl and can't get the fact that she changed and doesnt have a crush on him anymore! thats quite sad!

I agree. The death of DJ is when they went from friends to whatever they called that thing they did in late season 1, early in season 2.

The littlest things turn me off from DJ. In Show Me Love, Joey wanted both of them to leave her alone. Pacey knew to keep his distance for the time being. Right after Joey said that, Dawson runs up to her like some annoying little leech. Not only is he not in touch with what she's thinking, but he doesn't even know how to take a hint when she verbally spells it our for him.

What I find funny is that Dawson cant seem to keep his threats lol. He tells Joey that their friendship is over and five minutes later, he runs back to her saying he wants her friendship back. Have some cojones dude, stick to what you said. What happened to not wanting to be the consolation prize?

ITA with both of you. that's something I always wonder. Why oh why cant you leave her alone 2 freaking minutes when she clearly said she wanted to be alone for a bit! Can't you get the message! geez!

Also I think he knew he was the consolation prize and I think deep inside he knew she wasnt happy since she broke up with Pacey cos of him and he had to justify this i guess. I love how in True love he says he doesnt deserve her to act as if she was stuck with him when he made her feel like that. And when he knew she would be sad cos she is in love with pacey but didnt care cos he is always so selfish and even more when it comes to Joey; I think that's a part of their unhealthy relationship as a couple. They just cant understand each other that well at all. They dont have the same dreams, they never want the same thing at the same time... It just cant work, never!

I just love that lol, its like the only reason she is there is because you gave an ultimatum and didn't want to lose your friendship (God knows why) Just like Joey said in that episode if he didn't threaten to take away their so called "friendship" she would be with Pacey at the very moment. Its sad that only way Dawson can keep friends is he threatens them...

well he often did that i actually...like all the time! He knew she wouldnt give up on that, they have been way too dependant of each other during all those years cos of her mom's death...they have always face stuff togethe in a way, as friends, so yeah you dont want to loose a friendship like this, though I think they were real friends til they dated. then imo they even lost that because then he would always use it against her or give her ultimatums or make her feel bad for not loving him... it's really sad ITA.

And I think they really made each other bad persons most of the time. I think in the finale he understood everything better but til then it was alays the same. He didnt want her with anyone but him but in the same time she didnt want him as a lover.

I just dont think they even lived in the same world at some points, they wwould never want the same thing at the same moment, they would argue for everything and nothing! for real their relation is based on nothing but their very old friendship they had til they were 15. And it never changed since then!!!

i always found it funny joey called it that...since she was the one who always went to Dawson by crawling through the window when things went bad

Dawson didn't seem to seek out Joey when things went bad though

I've always felt that Dawson abused and took advantage of his friendship with Joey. He was all about him moving on and growing up, but never her.

Remember, eternally 15 is how he wanted Joey to remain. When she'd change and grown he'd FLIP. Some real test of your love there, pal.

Wingster, dawson seemed to always seek joey out when she was happy with someone else. why is that?
why is it that the only times he wants her is when someone else does?
he may not go to her whenever his life "sucks," but sure as hell seeked her out when she wasnt around to be his security blanket.

in s3 he sought her out before he knew of her and pacey...and i can't think of any other examples

he may have been all too willing to go back in time but really it was joey who initiated it

he saw that she was slipping away and then he decided he wanted to get closer... but then when he found out about pacey, he decided he "loved" her..
