That's the biggest problem with this couple.

They constantly lived in the past. Never growing, never learning and mostly Dawson struggling with the fact that things were going to change. That was seriously his downfall and the downfall of their relationship.

By putting themselves into a place where it was just forever 15, how could one ever grow up? Ridiculous.

It proves even more when you see Dawson's TV show that really reflects how he can let his "dream" continue on in fantasy and forever stuck being teenagers.

Awesome. And yet, SOOO healthy.

It left them in a crazy limbo where nothing ever changed. Such a contrast to her other realtionship where she was allowed to grow.

And thus the never ending drama that followed. I swear, whenever Dawson wanted to "Branch Out", he would never stop and think that Joey might want to, too. *sigh*

Lame!

But the same could be said for Joey in the beginning. However, it took her to see that with Jen and Eve, Dawson was going to constantly keep her in that box until he needed her or realized that he wanted her.

No, thanks!

she felt that way for good reason.
it's quite sad that dawson didn't see it actually.
He liked that they could back to being DJo when they were 15 whenever they missed each other, problem is, that can't solve everything because at the end of the day, they're NOT 15 anymore.

yeah everyone wants to be a 15 year old hormonal boy or girl again..that would be just perfect. Its NOT normal. Its like my friend..she has a problem, a big problem every time she breaks up with a boy she cuts her hair..short might I add. Now every time something is wrong with Dawson or Joey, they go back to their security blanket of being 15 in the closet playing Jaws of all things.

Nope their not and it's not healithy to want to be. It's stunting to them and their growth. They need to move on.

Dawson, Dawson... so many reasons to dislike this couple. Dawson held Joey back. And Joey was never ready to actually be with him, which means it wasn't right, ever!

I watched True Love today and the Series Finale and I started to compare the Dawson Speech and the Pacey speech from each episode and I got to say, what a world of difference between the two. Essentially the speeches were about Joey being happy and the guys letting her go. Pacey speech was more from the heart and truly wanted Joey to be happy, and everyone knows how Dawson's speech goes "it will be a colossal mistake and your going to come back to me blah blah blah."

Ahaha, any speech from Dawson makes me laughhhh.
It's always about himself.
He's disgusting.

Trys to guilt her into feeling sorry for HIM because of 'what she's done'.

LMFAOOOO.
So Jack (Lost), too.

F'ing disgusting,

Exactly.
It was yet another instance where her felt he knew her heart better than she did.
Truth of the matter was that when she went to Pacey on the boat, it was the first time in a long time that Joey knew exactly who she was and what she wanted. When she went back to Dawson in S2, I think she was still in a tailspin, what with the whole situation with Jack and her father returning. She was on very unstable ground and felt like the only way she could turn was back to Dawson. Their reunion was more of a security blanket than an act of love. It was more about need than want, like it was when she choice Pacey at the end of S3.

I felt that Dawson's speech was just for show with Joey. He thought that Joey was just going throw a phase and when she was over her "bad boy" she will just come running back again. And Dawson wasn't truly letting Joey going, he was letting her go for a moment, but Pacey's speech was about Joey being happy and wanting her to be with someone that makes her happy and if that wasn't Pacey, he would have been fine with it because all he wanted was for Joey to be happy and in love with anyone. He didn't take jabs at anyone he didn't use words like "Colossal mistake" and "your going to come back to me" none of that pompous stuff. Just him being Pacey and sacrificing his love for Joey.
