I watched the first two episodes of season 6 this past weekend. I can't believe how bad the DJo sex was. I mean that's what they were building up to for 6 seasons? It was just lacking everything...chemistry, right circumstances, believability. Eww.

I remember reading some of the most hilarious reviews about that scene

I didn't like it either, but I think it was appropriate though. Even if they didn't mean for it to be (which I don't know), I think the past 6 years did lead up to that sex. They had been confused about their friendship since they were 15 years old. They had confused their feelings so badly that they often hurt each other and those around them badly. Everyone pretty much stopped, frozen in time, at some point because of their relationship or lack thereof.

And it took them finally sleeping with each other to make them wake up to the idea that they were supposed to be friends and not lovers. It was their epiphany. They had to emotionally beat any sort of romantic feelings out of each other so that all that was left was once again the pure, innocent friendship they had before adolescence.

601/02 is the best example that dawson and joey bring the worst from each other... the sex awfull, the chemistry is just not there...
And all their conversation and fight afterwards, dont they get tired of always talking fighting talking and making everything just so complicated? It was tiresome to watch!

Yeah it was. My favorite part of their reviews is when they they say "Blah blah blah fishcakes" It cracks me up or "Blah blah blah pancakes."

But that's a good reflection of their romance. They wanted something with each other that wasn't there; it was fake. Then we find out in the finale that Joey always knew she didn't want Dawson, that she was supposed to be with Pacey, which kind of sucks for Dawson. They used each other for 10 years.

Yeah, they kind of did use each other. They used each other for comfort and familiarity and a fall back person. They both kind of played each other lol
