I agree. He didn't fall in love with her when she was being just herself - the girl he had known for years. That's not a healthy foundation for a relationship - hence setting up a pretty disastrous series of events for the two of them.

Eee, I miss this thread! The title is so perfect.

As for the KW debate... Personally, I would not have been any more pleased had he stayed. KW was still there when Joey was floundering in season two right off the bat. It was him who had her kiss Jack like five episodes after her first kiss with Dawson, and then try to "find herself" and ultimately put Dawson on a backburner but still clinging onto her very annoying possessiveness over him. Meanwhile, Dawson carried on by making a video about their entire relationship (total invasion of privacy, I might add). On top of it all, it introduced the nauseating idea of them being star-crossed soulmates (ugh).

The truth is, Katie and Josh had a LOT of chemistry and it showed from episode one. Regardless of when they were going to get together, the two actors seemed to fit together so well that it really took away from other relationships in the show. I think even if it had been in KW's hands, he still screwed D/J up horribly starting in season one with the "sister" comments, Dawson's oblivion, Pacey saving her while Dawson took the credit, etc. etc. and it just got worse and worse once they were actually in a relationship.

Totally agree one hundred percent. KW was there for the initial demise of this couple. Lol. And how could they possible be star-crossed? No one was against them being together, really!! And they didn't have to hide it or try and kill themselves or pretend to kill themselves to be together (Like Romeo and Juliet) Which reminds me, in 504, Pacey says to Joey "It's time you two got your shot. This world needs as many Romeo and Juliet's as it can get" And Joey goes and says "Look what happened to them" Love it, by the way. I swear, even DJ were anti-DJ. LOl

Oh and i feel so bad for Pacey when he punches that guy for Joey and then Dawson comes running along and Joey's like "Dawson, my hero" Ugh. He was not. It's like Pacey had to do all the hard work, had to go through a lot more pain and when Pacey was out of the picture, Dawson would be there on the sidelines to act all good to Joey and always be there and stuff. That sucks major.

This is so true. It's not like they had to overcome any obstacles to be together. Pacey and Joey were the star-crossed ones IMO. Dawson was spewing a lot of BS about him and Joey in S2... They're soul mates, star-crossed, and that he's been in love with her for 15 years lmao.

How can you fall in love before you've even met, number one-cause didn't they meet when they were like 6 or 7? and then in season 1 he was so adamant that they were just like brother and sister and so, all the sudden he's loved her all their lives?

Yeah, i haven't had much of a life lately. LOL. It's summer and i am determined to be as lazy as possible before school starts (Yes, i'm a youngin' in school)

I agree with so much of what has been said hah!

like about d/j being anti d/j - VERY TRUE.

and exactly, they are not star-crossed lovers at all, they could have gone on being together and not a person would have had a problem with it. they didn't have any obstacles to face other than those which they created themselves. pacey/joey on the other hand had obstacles along with the strength as a couple to overcome them.

It's kind of like Dawson saying in 320 "If things are complicated it's because you made them that way" True, but i think he was being really mean in that fight and forgot to add that if things were complicated, they made it that way. It takes two to tango.

You know this is one of many things that have always always always and probably always bug me

How the hell could Dawson say he's been in love with Joey for 15 years when he didn't even notice her till up until last year when she wore the dress and makeup? Oh and let's not forget his droolfest and his proclaimed love for Jen. Does he have like selective memories or something
