Pacey did say it first in Castaways! How could Joey not realize that?
The only thing I thought that was cute about the Dawson/Joey scene at the end was Lily and Alexander playing together. Hopefully their friendship wouldn't be as co dependent. __________________

Well, maybe Joey did realize it, that's why she looked so unfazed by Dawson. We should compare captions.

That's an idea.
![]() I don't know if this is going to make sense, but Joey's face didn't light up around Dawson the same way it did around Pacey. Pacey made her feel happy and alive. __________________

That makes complete sense. Joey said that Pacey pushes her. Dawson always wanted them to stay in the same soulmate bubble. Its hard to get excited when you can basically guess word for word the conversation youre going to have

It is hard to get excited when their is no growth. Pacey pushed Joey in a good way. He pushed her to paint the wall, he pushed her to follow her dreams. Dawson wanted Joey to stay exactly where they were.

I felt embarrassed that he said he liked that he could tell she was nervous and he liked that he could make her nervous when we saw no such thing. We saw nervous when Pacey kissed Joey moments later.

Yeah, their was no nervousness in that scene at all, at least on Joey's end.

Actually 9x23 as a whole is kind of terrible. They shoved the Dawson/Joey friendship down our throats and I just found it sad that Dawson was even fantasizing about his wedding with Joey.

Was the wedding a fantasy or a dream?

Joey was rocked by that kiss from Pacey. I do think she was nervous with Dawson, but not the way Dawson thought. It was obvious he still had feelings for her and I think she was trying not to hurt his feelings, imo.
I think it was a dream. __________________

I thought her face looked like she was sort of unsure of how to react or surprised at his comment more than legitimately nervous to be in his presence. It was honestly a bold and unfounded moment from Dawson . Actually it's more of a line that Pacey would give more so than Dawson. It was like he had some lines that made it seem like the writers were desparate to make Dawson and Joey happen and it failed beyond their wildest dreams so they modified it for the second half.

I think the Nervous line was delivered so flat that it was hard to take serious. He said it like it was a fact instead of like a 'im trying to seduce you' kind of way.
