I do agree with you about Pacey and Joey telling him sooner. However, I still think he would have reacted badly, but like you said it probably would have made a difference later on.

I just heard today that Dawson's Creek is coming off of Netflix on Friday, so if you need a DC fix you better watch in the next two days.

I couldn't remember which thread it was where were talking about Dawsons Creek being removed from Netflix this past Friday, so I'm putting this here.

For anyone who has access to changing their Netflix country (through VPN, country unblocking, or other methods), just FYI that DC is still available on Canadian Netflix, no expiry date listed. Maybe it was just the US Netflix library losing it.
