[2x21] "Ch...Ch...Changes" December 6th - December 13th
The Official Dawson's Creek Board Rewatch Thread "Ch...Ch...Changes" ~ 2x21 Synopsis: All of the gang's lives go through changes. After Andie begins seeing her dead brother Tim in the last episode, Jack and Pacey agree to call Mr. McPhee, who decides that he wants his daughter to be treated in Providence, not Capeside. All are stunned at the new changes, and Andie and Pacey must decide if Andie's mental health is more important than being together. Jack also must decide whether or not to go with Andie or stay. His decision is complicated when his father implies that Jack's homosexuality can be 'treated'. Dawson, while helping Mr. Potter extend the Ice House, interviews him for a film project about his supposedly changed life, but inadvertently catches him in the act of a drug deal. Jen decides to make a change so she calls her mother and inquires about returning home or visiting. She is upset to be told that it is an inconvenient time. She ends up moving in with Jack, as she has no other place to go. This is our opportunity to relive the Dawson's Creek days and to discuss our favorite moments, things we would like to change or maybe totally new things we never noticed before. We will watch one episode every two weeks. Due to our different time-zones we decided to not name an exact time and date, so everyone can decide for themselves when they watch the episode. Anyway, I know I posted this vid in the last rewatch thread by accident, but now THIS episode is actually Pacey and Andie's last episode as a real couple before what happens in Season 3, so I just wanted to post this vid in this thread to have one last look back on them. I'll miss them. :love: |

Great ep.
I love the scene where Joey tells Dawson that she loves him and that she's proud to be with him. And Dawson building the white picket fence for Joey :love: I also love the Pandie scenes and Jack/Jen moving in together. |

I think it was really strong of Andie to realize that she needed help and she wanted to leave. I know she loves Pacey but I think she knows that she needs to move on to make things better, that she is "dragging" them down in some ways. Pacey needs a breather imo. So while I love PA a lot, I want Andie to go and get help.
The last PA scenes were so great, the one on the dock and the final scene. :bawl: I felt so bad for Pacey but what he said about her coming back to him was really adorable. The Jack/Jen scene was really cute! Its cute that they can bond over the lack of love from their parents. "It it worse to be incapable of loving than to not be loved." Great quote! Dawson seeing Mike dealing was sad. :( |
Andie realizing that she needed help was a very mature thing for her even if it meant being away from Pacey. I think seeing her mother's demise helped her make that decision.
I was always on Dawson's side about how he handled seeing Mike dealing drugs. I don't think he did anything wrong and only had Joey's best interest at heart. Kudos to him for that. |
Agreed, it was very mature of Andie to leave Capeside to get help. :nod: I like that being loved by Pacey and her brother helped her realize she needed to get better for all of them. It had to be incredibly difficult for her to leave but it was the right thing to do. The last two Pacey/Andie scenes were so emotional and so special. I like that they talked about their first dance/kiss and relived that memory again with a new dance. And I like that Pacey came to tell her goodbye even though she told him not to. What he said to her. Gah. :bawl:
Agree about liking the Jack/Jen scenes even though they were kind of random. It was nice to see him reaching out to Jen when she was at such a low point in her life. I wonder what Grams would've said to her if Jen had had the courage to just knock on the door. Also agree about Dawson doing the right thing as far as Mike went. That had to be a really difficult position to be in, especially when things with Joey were in a great place and she was so happy in general. I like that we got to see Dawson trying to be handy and making that white picket fence for Joey. So sweet. :love: |
