[1x08] "Boyfriend" ~ June 21st - June 25th
The Official Dawson's Creek Board Rewatch Thread "Boyfriend" ~ 1x08 Synopsis: Dawson, Pacey, Joey and Jen all wind up spending a Saturday in detention at Capeside High under the supervision of Mrs. Tringle, the school librarian. The day takes on a "Breakfast Club" type air as Abby Morgan, the school trouble-maker, stirs the pot by initiating a telling game of truth or dare to break up the monotony of the day. Joey's secret longing for Dawson threatens to reveal itself.                 I would like to invite everyone to participate in our re-watch, be it first-time viewer or long-time fan. This is our opportunity to relive the Dawson's Creek days and to discuss our favorite moments, things we would like to change or maybe totally new things we never noticed before. We will watch two episodes every week, one Monday-Thursday and the other Friday-Sunday. Due to our different time-zones we decided to not name an exact time and date, so everyone can decide for themselves when they watch the episode. I will update this thread every Thursday and then again on Sunday, when we start a new episode, so all discussion can take place in here too. Have Fun!  __________________

One of my favorite episodes from Season One. Pacey's on Joey watch. Lots of cute PJ bantering/moments.
I also like the scene where Pacey is striking up a conversation with the old guy on the bench. IDK why, but it cracks me up. I love all of Pacey's snarky comments. Pacey to Joey: I was just out looking for a date and since I couldn't find one, I thought of you.  Pacey: How do I look? Joey: Like a before picture in a after-geek remover. Pacey: Easy doll, jealousy's not gonna get you anywhere. Pacey: (takes Joey's drink) Not that I care, but you might wanna pace yourself with this stuff. Pacey: Alright Jo, say goodbye to the nice serial rapist man. Pacey knocks the guy out because of Joey and gets none of the credit for it. Poor Pacey The story Pacey tells Alexander to keep him quiet is hysterical. So many great moments from the episode. |

This is probably my favorite episode of the first season! I love all the PJo banter and I think this is the first time we see how much Pacey actually does care for Joey. Aww. He's always looking out for her!!
I also think Dawson's jealousy is kinda funny in the episode. VanderBeek does such a great job with the teenage angst!! I love it!!  __________________

I always enjoyed the PJo banter in the earlier seasons, especially in this episode. To me, there were so many hints that they liked each other.

Aww I love this episode! 'Say goodbye to the nice serial rapist man' - GO PACEY!
  I loved the Pacey/Joey moments in this episode I also laughed my ass off when Joey was thankful to Dawson while it was Pacey who actually took care of her. His reaction was priceless  And I agree - Dawson's jealousy was quite entertaining I actually was a bit surpised with the break up at the end, but it was probably for the best cause Jen was not ready for a real relationship at that point  __________________

 On a related note though, the Young Americans anniversary is in a few days and we're doing a rewatch there too, and since YA is technically a DC spin-off I just wanted to let you guys know and to officially invite you all over  __________________

I'm watching this episode right now!
I can't believe Cliff asked Dawson if Jen had a bf. Doesn't that news usually get around the school? I thought it was rude of Jen to ask Dawson if Billy could stay at his house. Pj has some of the funniest banter in this episode __________________
