Dawson once again is left with tears in his eyes...watching his two friends...sail away together...this time he is smiling through his tears of joy for them..and he thinks to himself..."What a Lucky guy...He Got the Girl!!!"

We leave off at the end of the 7th chapter...with them leaving the Wedding Ceremony...sailing off on the "Yes"..their new refurbished sailboat...
He is taking his girl...sailing...before they head over to join the others at the
reception...


As their Sailboat the "Yes" pulls away from the docks...the Wedding guests are still waving and cheering...giving this beautiful newlywed couple a warm send off.
It is two hours until the reception begins. Pacey and Joey planned it this way..so they would enjoy a little private time...on their Wedding Day. The day is just magnificent...Joey is now just watching her husband take charge and sail them to their destination..in more ways than one..Their destination today...No destination!
She always loved to watch him sail...he is a master of this domain. As she stands at the front of the boat looking out over the water...the sweet smelling breeze is blowing her dress and her veil..He looks over at her in complete amazement...he will remember this moment...for the rest of his life. She is breathtaking...he thinks to himself...how fortunate he is to have her...in his life.
She is such a beauty...inside and out...and he has flashes in his mind... of the many moments...that she touched his soul...like his rearview mirrow awakening, and the night he rowed up to her sitting on the dock...crying over Dawson...he knew then Dawson wasn't for her...when he spent the entire night...sitting in a rocking chair..watching her sleep...realizing that he was in love with her..
the morning he pulled the car to the side of the road...and with a leap of faith...kissed her..the night he gave her a wall...a piece of himself... to remind her how much he cared. when he couldn't stand one more second of watching her and Dawson sing... and left and her coming out looking for him...and revealing that he made her feel alive... and then he counted to 10... and took her soul...their special dance at the Junior Prom...when he told her he Remembered Everything...and when she showed up at the docks and revealed to him..I think I'm in love with you...I know... I'm in love with you!!...with her hand outstretched to him asking for permission to come aboard...all the nights they read to each other and he watched her fall asleep from the hammock below...
to the snowcovered evening in a firelit lodge where she counted to 10 and now took his soul ....to years later...carrying her up to his bed, looking into her face...recognizing that he still loved her...to them being locked in a store and her shaving him..recognizing him again... as the Man she is in love with...to meeting again at a Wedding...he asks her for a favor...and steals her soul all over again
to the tradgedy of burrying their friend...walking on the beach...realizing there is no need to run from each other anymore...to asking her to Marry him and an evening of romance and new levels of intimacy...to experiencing her sexual awakening with a pulse racing strip tease...to this morning...to plesant surprises
to watching her walk closer and closer to him... and vowing their love to each other
to this quiet moment of realizing his Dream!!


Joey turning back...looking over at him...noticing his silence says...What are you thinking about?.... with the sun beating on his face. the wind blowing through his hair and his girl...his new wife by his side and the biggest smile he can muster...he says..."I am the luckiest guy on the face of the planet" and with that she makes her way over to him...and their eyes connect...they have such a beautiful way of looking into each others eyes...but the connection is now much deeper. He feels a stronger sense of responsibility for her..and she feels a much deeper need to take care of him..each adding a new level to their already existing
love affair. He softly brushes the hair off of her forhead...knowing how safe it makes her feel...and holding her chin...he brings his lips to hers...barely touching hers...still looking into his eyes...she is mesmerized by the tenderness of his touch...he slowly opens his lips to her..and extinctively she brings her lips into the warmth of his mouth...with his mouth covering hers ...he tugs at her lower lip and caresses her with his tongue...tantilizing her...pullling her in even closer... kissing her still deeper and pasionately with his strong arms enveloping her...she is feeling chills down to the tips of her toes..and as she opens her eyes to him...he is there... lovingly waiting for her..she can feel his breath on her face as he whispers to her.."I promise to kiss you like that everyday"..and she smiles coyly at him...and then grabs his butt...and squeezes it....he looks at her astounded and says..."What's that for"...and giggling...she leans in close to his ear and whispers back..."Remember when I told you to get your butt away from my butt...
still giggling...I didn't mean it...and I promise to always keep my butt as close to your butt as I can"...they both look at each other and start laughing hysterically
and as they snuggle together he thinks how he loves her newfound boldness and says to her..."Witter...I think you've lost it"...and hearing him call her Witter for the very first time...she smiles from ear to ear and throws herself between him and the wheel of the boat...and kisses his nose...and wiggles her arms around his waist... inside of his Tuxedo jacket...she leans her head on his chest and closes her eyes...she is where she wants to be forever...in the arms of her handsome husband...who will protect her from the world...and who will love her to the ends of all time...They spend the next hour...just sailing around the cape...in each others arms...sipping champagne...indulging in this moment of pure joy...
they have waited so long for...

As their boat gets closer to the dock at the Icehouse...they can see the guests mingling with each other...they are an half an hour late getting there...She sees for the first time...how beautiful the outside deck looks...Pacey and Bodie...have done an exceptional job...she is thrilled...feeling like a princess in a fairytale...Bessy sees their boat and exciitedly
shouts out to the guests...their here..their here!!! Pacey sailing the "Yes" smoothly into it's slip...grabs his wife by the hand and says..."After you..Missy
our road ahead beckons us"...with that Dawson has arrived to greet them...he grabs her hand to help her out of the boat...when securely on the dock...she hugs him..they look at each other briefly...and she says to him.."I am so happy"
Dawson replies..."I can see that Mrs. Witter" the words having a tone of reality
and he looks down at Pacey still in the boat...and they have a moment of eye contact also...and Dawson says to him..."Hey...glad you guys could make it"
with a sarcastic snicker...Pacey quips back..."Sorry man...but I could have gotten lost out there forever"...giving Dawson a taste of sarcasim back he says..."nothing in the world like enjoying my two girls"...and making eye contact again he says.."My Wife and My Boat!!!...There is still a part of him that is possesive of her.. especially with the former Soulmate!!! Bessy runs up...and gives her sister a big hug...saying.."where the hell have you guys been...we've been waiting for you...for what seems like forever"...and taking her by the hand...leads her to a table...where their father is sitting...Joey shocked that he is right there in front of her says...What are you doing here...I mean...
I'm surprised to see you"
Pacey now seeing his wife with her father...quickly moves in behind her...taking her hand...and with the other shakes Mr. Potter's hand...saying..."Glad you made it"..Joey now looking at her husband says..."you knew about this"...Pacey smiling at her says back..."Surprise"...she shoots him a look back saying..."how come you don't seem surprised"...with that her father steps up to her and kisses her cheek and says..."You are beautiful...and let's not worry about how I got here"
Pacey breaks in saying..."Let's go Jo...we need to get to our seats...Dawson is getting ready to give his "Bestman" speech"...and jokingly says..."this ought to be good"...she now shoots her husband a stern look. He takes her by the hand and moving through the guests leads them to the head table...
She whispers to him...
"Why didn't you tell me"...He takes her face and kisses her..right in front of everyone...and whispers back with a laugh..."Do we have to have our first fight right now...or can it wait until later...and as everyone is still watching them..she smirks at him and says..."All right...you're Off the Hook...but only for now"...
and he laughs back saying..."Thanks...you owed me that one anyway"...and she quizacally looks at him and says..."What"...and with his usual sly smirk he says back..." Well...I believe I let you off the Hook once...it's not my fault that you didn't take me up on my offer" and they are both now knowingly smiling at each other...and the guests all start clinking their glasses...for them to kiss...she says to him..."You don't deserve a Kiss"...and with that he grabs her by the waist...and dips her down...and kisses her passionately and then slowly brings her back up to him...she is oblivious to the cheering of the guests...as they watch in enjoyment this sweet couple..who deserve all the happiness in the world...and he kisses her cheek and takes her hand and continues to their seats...and Dawson from his seat has been watching their amazing chemistry...why hadn't he noticed it before....and he's thinking how much they truly belong together....and as they arrive at their table with Dawson waiting...she smiles at him and happily says...
"I Got the Boy"

Dawson laughing to himself...is getting a kick out of Joey’s public displays of affection. She has grown into a woman..and Dawson is mesmerized by their love for one another. He is going over a few things in his mind...of how he wants to express all of his feelings for them...This is a one time shot...to toast all of their friendships...and to put his feelings into perspective...He begins to clink his glass to get everyone’s attention...and begins his toast to his two best friends...who through everything...have found their way back to one another...



Dawson's toast...Sxy_readr3

Dawson stood before his friends glass of champagne raised--had somebody told him 5 years ago that he'd be giving the best man's speech at Joey and Pacey's wedding, he'd have socked them into next year. But it was different now, the three of them had grown, he saw the love they held for each other and there was no way his feelings for Joey could ever compete...she just didn't feel the same way about him--never did, never will.

"I've known Pacey and Joey my entire life" Dawson began as the chatter subsided..."I'll never meet another couple that has as much tension and passion as the two of them share for one another. I can look into Joey's eyes and see Pacey reflected in them and the same with Pacey. I'm the last person who thought he'd be admitting this is true and that is how each one of you out there sharing in this joyous occasion knows that this marriage is built to last." Pacey wrapped his arms around Joey's waist and rested his head on her shoulder, she softly placed a gentle kiss on his nose as they continued to listen to the eloquent words flowing out of Dawson's mouth..."Joey and Pacey always had a sort of love/hate thing going on--each one gave as good as they received--and for as long as I can remember, there was always a sweetness and a sarcasm in their exchanges--never could one of them express their feelings for one another in a straightforward sort of way, it was always in banter." Dawson paused for the laughter to subside..."I cannot express how happy I am to see my two best friends in the world completely happy and wrapped up in each other--I can only offer one piece of advice--Be kind to one another and don't let any idiot get in the way of the wonderful love you two have for one another! You two are truly soulmates, I see that now, and I'm just sorry I was unable to enjoy the last several years with the two of you together."

Dawson stepped off the small stage met up with Pacey and Joey--Joey's eyes brimmed with tears and Pacey putting on a macho facade but matched her demeanor. "Thank you so much Dawson. Your words mean so much...and just know what's in the past is over--our friendship is starting anew from this moment on." Joey assured Dawson as they shared a quick embraced. Pacey also assured Dawson that old feelings were no longer an issue and he looked forward to being a part of each other's lives just like old times as they shared a manly hug and patted each other on the back a few times before releasing.

The three of them are caught up in this emotional moment....happy to be together...with that Bessy joins them...and she congratulates Dawson on his Best man’s toast...She then raises her glass and says..”Wait...Wait...I ...being the older sister and Matron of Honor...have something to say too”...and she calls on everyone to raise their glasses again..she smiles at her sister first and then Pacey...and then Bodie...comes and stands next to Bessy and raises his glass too...



Bessy's Toast...Sexy_readr3

cling, cling, cling…Bodie gently clanked his knife on his wine glass so as to get everyone’s attention so Bessie could have the floor to give her words of love for her sister and new brother-in-law. “So, I guess as sister of the bride, it’s my turn to congratulate the happy couple. When I look into my sister’s eyes, I see a look that I have only seen twice before, both of which were the times Pacey and her were together. It’s wonderful to see that my sister is finally truly happy.” Joey looked at Pacey and the two shared sweet kiss. “And Heaven knows there aren’t a lot of people who deserve happiness the way my sister deserves it; when you lose your mother at such a young age, it is hard to trust your instincts and allow yourself to be honestly happy. I did my best to give her a home where she had a female presence in her life she could go to for advice—things didn’t always go as planned, but we made it through and we have love in our lives, and each other.” Bessie glanced down to her sister, both had tears in their eyes and smiles on their faces.

“Now, I would like to share some of my memories I have of these two lovebirds. As young children, they had your typical relationship who thought the other were “yucky”. And as they grew, the banter increased, but you could sure see the respect they had for each other. He accompanied her to see our father in prison, which I never thanked you for Pacey.” Pacey nodded his welcome up at her and squeezed Joey’s hand slightly as they both took the trip down memory lane. “They comforted each other in times of love lost and in times of cheer, they hardly wanted to share it with anybody else; I watched as their relationship grew from friendship to something more—both were so confused as to what their feelings meant, and believe me they tried to fight them—Pacey was there when the school bully defaced her mural and risked suspension to protect her, and then he bought her a wall so she could be free to design it without the worry of it being destroyed.

“Joey told me all about the first time he kissed her—really kissed her, and don’t think I’m forgetting about the time he kissed her after their extra credit project, I heard ALL about that—by the side of the road…she had so many conflicting thoughts, but I could tell she felt for him what he felt for her…not that she would let me tell her this…And then came that fateful day after school let out before their senior year. Joey came home in tears and I followed her to her room asking her what was wrong. She was quickly changing out of the dress and ran past me telling me she was sailing away with Pacey. I wasn’t happy, but I knew that I couldn’t very well stop her—once this girl gets something in her head, there’s no changing her mind! When these two came back, I half expected their love to have faded, but that was nowhere close to what was actually the case, they were more in love than ever, you couldn’t pry these two apart. However, these two have never held each other back, have always given each other to have space to grow, but as so many of us in this room, they are not honestly complete without each other in their lives. All of us should be so lucky to find the type of love these two have found at such a young age.

“Pacey, I would like to extend my gratitude for all that you bring into my sister’s life, you have become the man I always knew you could be. And Joey, I know mom is watching down on us today with her trademark smile, and I know she is extremely proud of the woman you have become…and so am I…” The two sisters embraced in a tight hug, each crying happy tears mixed in with tears from their thoughts of their mother. When they released each other, Joey thanked Bessie and told her she was proud of everything she had done with her life as well, as would their mom be.

With the wedding party now all hugging with tears of joy...Joey looks over by the bar...and a big smile comes to her face....yet another surprise entering the reception...It’s Audrey...they haven’t seen one another in a year...Audrey has been touring with a rock band all through Europe....
Joey is thrilled to see her...she says to Pacey..”My God Pace...it’s Audrey...I can’t believe my eyes”...Pacey not as thrilled says...”Neither can I...I wonder if this is going to be a good experience or another memorable one...” Pacey always worried about Joey says...”how about you go over first to feel her out...and then in a few minutes I will join you”...”Ok Pace”...Joey retorts
and she runs up to Audrey and gives her a hug...



Audrey's visit...hshapir2

Audrey was invited to the wedding, but didn't know if she should come. She was bitter that he didn't love her. He wanted to love her, but his heart was meant for someone else. In the back of her mind, she think she knew that, but she wanted him anyway. All it did was cause her heartbreak
"So glad you could come Audrey", Joey smiles
"I had to see my little Bunny get married, even if it is to Pacey." Audrey smirks
"So funny Audrey."
"When am I not funny? I am happy for you guys. Yes, it hurt like hell when I realized that Pacey wasn't in love with me, but you after we broke up. I am over it."
"That's good to hear" Joey says not even sure if she is convinced
Pacey walks by and sees them talking. He goes over to Joey and puts his hand in her's. Audrey watches how happy they look together and looks a little annoyed
Audrey, good to see you" Pacey says genuinely
"I had to come. I wouldn't to see if this wedding would actually happen, you know considering how wishy washy Joey is" Audrey jokes
"Audrey, I so missed missed your sense of humor" Joey replies
"This is the real thing Audrey." Pacey says to her
"We could of had the real thing too, but you didn't want it with me. I was so stupid to believe that you could ever love me like you did her, or at all. I should of seen the signs. "Of course I want to see him" or "I've got my eye on you Charlie". I bet you didn't even know that I heard you saying that to him, but I did. You both did such a good job of acting like you over each other. You even gave us your blessing Joey. I guess I see it now. I guess when you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it is not with yourself. So, I see it now."
"That's good Audrey" Joey says
"I've been drinking a lot, so you know how I get when I'm drunk"
"I definitely haven't forgotten" Pacey smiles remembering the time Audrey ran his car into Dawson's house which he knows she purposely did because she was upset that he was still in love with Joey and she wanted to get him back
"It was a long time a go" Joey says in a nice way

"Everything's good" You guys have a great honeymoon. Audrey says as Pacey and Joey say their goodbyes. Audrey watches them walk off and sees their love for each other and realizes she wants that too, but is a little nostalgic for what she could of had with Pacey if his heart hadn't belonged to Joey

As the wedding guests settle into their exquisite gourmet meal that Pacey and Bodie have planned...Pacey and Joey go from table to table...welcoming everyone...and thanking them for coming...and at one point to cover more ground they split up...and as Joey is enjoying laughing with her friends from work...Pacey is at the bar...toasting with his buddies...Dawson slaps him on the back and says...”So the first one to bite the dust...hey Pace”...and all the guys start laughing...
Pacey smiles and quips back...”Hope you guys..get as lucky as I am”...and with that his eyes pan the area...looking for his beautiful bride...as he finally spies her with her friends...she is laughing...and he thinks how beautiful she is...in his eyes...and as he starts to walk toward her...
She lifts up her head and their eyes meet...their connection stronger than ever...She bids her friends farewell...and heads toward her husband...they are oblivious to the gathering of family and friends...They only have eyes for each other...and as they approach one another he embraces her...
and she melts into him...the group of guys at the bar are no longer laughing...as they witness their friends profound love...and especially Dawson...who quietly walks away from the bar...The music begins to play louder and the DJ announces....that the bride and groom will dance their first dance...and the song has been selected by Pacey...as a gift for her...Joey looks into her husband’s eyes as she always does...and he says..”Mrs. Witter...may I please have this dance” and she smiles and quips back...”I would love to dance with you Mr. Witter”..and he takes her hand and leads her to the dance floor...and “Their song”...Joshua Kadison’s...”Beautiful in my eyes”...begins to play...He takes her chin and kisses her lips so softly...and whispers...”I love you”...
And they begin to dance....

and as they dance...he remembers when she asked him to dance at the Junior Prom...and he remembered how it felt so right...then and now...and as they are dancing... she remembers a dance that she told him that she didn’t feel it...and he asked her to dance anyway...she knew right then and there that he loved her...and she loved him...she just wasn’t sure of him...or herself...
As they continue to dance...they both remember..how they found each other dancing at another wedding...he asked her to dance...and before you know it...he was kissing her...and every feeling she had ever had for him...came rushing to the surface...and when the kiss was over...they shared a moment ....in each other’s eyes...as they are right now...both knowing how their love is so right both knowing that they will always....”Remember Everything”

and as she holds on to him...she looks over his shoulder...and sees her dad...he has tears in his eyes as he is watching them dance...Pacey can feel her demeanor change...he understands her torn feelings of love and disappointment...toward her dad...because he feels the same way about his dad...he lets go of her and says..”Go dance with your Dad and I will be right here waiting for you”...and she kisses his cheek...and says...”thank-you for understanding”....and she heads towards her dad...

Mike Potter watched his daughter dancing with her husband and wiped tears that had only just begun to fall. This was all new to him; being apart of her life, her future. Joey spotted her father and they locked eyes. Immediately she started to walk toward him. “Dad?” she froze. “What are you doing here?” she couldn’t believe he was there.
Mr. Potter just looked at his daughter, a woman now, no longer that girl that was afraid nobody loved her. He was wondering if she even remembered that. He snapped out of his thoughts to look at her now.
“I had to come. I needed to see you and. Bessie. I had to be here for you. I was just watching you two. You know I still can’t believe it” he laughed out loud, feeling nervous around his own daughter and Joey just smiled at him and said” I’m happy you’re here Dad”
Surprised Mr. Potter let out a breath he had been holding and relaxed.
“I am too. I am very happy I was able to be here; and to also ask if I can have one last dance with my daughter” he smiled up at Joey who began to cry at her father’s words. Mike reached for her hand and she was pulled into his arms on the dance floor. Joey was so lost in the moment she couldn’t even remember a time he wasn’t there with her, a time when she hated him, or was mad for any reason. Joey closed her eyes and just savored these feelings. Mike was thinking of so many things he wanted to say, so many feelings and he knew she felt it too. This was going to be a moment to cherish. After a long silence Mike finally looked at Joey, tears streaming down her face, he reached up to wipe her cheek and said something he had wanted to say for a long, long time.
“Are you happy?”
“I am happier than I ever thought possible, more than I thought someone like me could ever be. I owe it all to that man over there”. Joey looked over at Pacey who was sitting at their table watching them; Pacey had been watching them closely.
“I am ecstatic dad, really!” her smile lit up and she was glowing.
“Do you remember asking me if I loved you?” he said in a very solemn tone.
“Uh…yeah I remember that” she was looking away, wiping tears that wouldn’t stop. Her smile disappearing.
“You also said that you woke up everyday not knowing if anyone loved you” he was looking directly into her; trying to get her to really listen.
“Yes. I did say that” she was looking at Pacey again and their eyes met. He smiled and just that gave her encouragement. God she needed him and he knew it. His smile never failed to give her hope. Now with her father here, she looked up and saw a new man, a changed man.
“I just wanted to remind you of that girl. That scared little girl that once thought no one loved her. All of these people in this room love you and that man over there loves you more than life, there is nothing he would deny you of.” Mr. Potter was holding her hands now, assuring her that he meant every word. He was finally telling her what she had longed to hear all of her life.
Smiling to herself Joey looked up into her father’s eyes “I know that. Now I know that. I don’t feel that way anymore dad. I feel...” thinking to her self; she thought of so many things but only one word could describe an indescribable love.
“I feel complete. For the first time in my life, I feel it.” Tears streaming down her cheeks as she hugged her father and he hugged Joey just as tight and then before letting her go completely, giving her away to Pacey in his own way, he turned to her and said.
“I loved you before you were brought into this world, before I was man enough to be a father, before you were even considered, I wanted you. I am so very proud of the woman you have become since then. Don’t ever doubt my love for you.” With that he turned to walk away but Joey grabbed his hand, one last thing she thought….
“I love you dad.” She smiled and turned and walked toward her husband, her life, her future. Now everything was complete, finally.

As the wedding reception continues...Pacey and Joey...now see Doug and Jack...and they now have Amy with them...they go over to their table...as they are happy to see her here...and Pacey says...”I thought you guys weren’t bringing her to the wedding”...and Jack pipes in saying...
“Ahhh Pace...we missed her too much and wanted her to be part of this beautiful day..and Pacey is now beaming...He and Joey love Amy so much...almost like she was their’s too...and they see so much of their friend Jen...in her baby girl..and it makes them feel in a small way...that Jen is with them too...and with that


Doug's toast...Emilydc

Doug gently placed Amy back into the arms of Jack, kissing the young girl on the forehead, who then gave an approving giggle at the attention she was recieving. Jack smiled warmly at his partner and the loving action, and craddled Amy to his chest. "You'll do great don't look so nervous about it." Jack teased him, Doug laughed rolling his eyes, giving a quick glance around the room at the happy guests and loving family he rose to his feet, champagne glass in hand. Raising the glass he tapped it with his spoon in order to get everyone's
attention, immediately the noise cause all eyes in the room to focus on him. He gave a nervous chuckle and then smiled warmly in the direction of Pacey and Joey "Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the honour of making a quick speech- an opportunity some siblings go a lifetime waiting for,
the opportunity to embarrass my baby brother in front of everybody." There was an immediate chuckle from the crowd, "However instead I decided
that this occassion is far too important and that I am far too proud of my younger brother to do so." He smiled once again meeting his brother's
warm eyes, "What amazes me is not that my baby brother managed to get himself a woman.." he chuckled, "But that these two people managed to find each other and hold such a consuming love and passion for each other...and there is no better woman I could imagine for my brother. Individually the Bride and Groom are both great people but they complete one and another. My greatest wish for you both is that through out the years to come you never lose the butterflies and that your love for each other will deepen and grow and that years from now you will look back on this day with happiness and love that was shared by your family and friends. Happy marriages begin when we marry the one we love and they blossom when we love the one we married. So in a toast please raise your glasses to the Bride and Groom, we wish you both all the happiness in the world... to the Bride and Groom!" "To the Bride and Groom!" The family and friends echoed and cheered. Doug smiled watching as Pacey leant over to kiss a tearful Joey. Doug took his seat once again and Jack gently edged closer, "That was better then I thought it would go." he smiled teasingly, Doug laughed and leant over proudly kissing his partner.

and as the crowd starts to dwindle down...and the daylight is beginning to fade away...

The sun is starting to set on the creek, and you can now notice the hundreds of twinkle lights that are part of the Wedding decorations...making the open deck of the Ice House and the dock look "Magical". The exquisite dinner is over and now you can hear the sweet sounds of dinner music floating through the air, and the intimate gathering of guests are dancing and chatting. Dawson has been busy going from table to table visiting everyone...as he will be leaving first thing in the morning to go back to California. He is happy to see old friends and family and is now realizing that the more he builds his life in California the less amount of time he will be coming back home. He knows that this is home, but, it is beginning to feel that way less and less. His mom and sister are still here..but most other connections to Capeside are beginning to fade...and it is not something that you would ever think that you would feel...that is...coming home and feeling that the place that you grew up in...is now your past....
and then there's Pacey and Joey...Pacey his best friend and childhood buddy whom he spent most of his firsts with..are bonded in a way that he will never experience again..and Joey his lifelong confidante...his dream keeper...his Soulmate...now ex-Soulmate. She has given over her Soul to his best friend and he never saw it coming...They were all just friends...Joey being special to him because he felt that they were in love...like most teenagers they had their share of problems...
he felt that they needed just a little time apart to grow and mature...he asked his best friend to watch after her...never thinking that said best friend would fall in love with her...or was hiding true feelings for her...He never thought about them being a couple...cause Pacey was so different than him...not at all what Joey would be attracted to...with their constant bickering and sarcastic banter...would lead anyone to believe...that they were appalled by each other...so he thought...
Never realizing the charming side to his best friend...he always believed he was about the bottom line...Sex...and that he was transparent to the girls...especially Joey...Pacey surprised everyone...he turned out to be a great guy...he was sensitive and caring.... who dared to take chances a fearless man who followed his dreams...and who somehow managed to steal her soul right out from under him. If you were to ask him...he would say that I never truly loved her...not in the way he did...and now being able to look at this from an older maturer viewpoint...he was right!! He was the one who was always there for her...he stole her heart...and even when they hadn't seen each other for many years...as soon as they were together...you could feel the sparks...he remained in her heart all those years...Even though it appeared that they had moved on...they were unable to live their lives without each other...finding that out at Jen's funeral...
they knew it was time to stop running...and I realized that I no longer had her soul but he did...she wanted him...They were the ones who were truly in love!!!
Now looking around for them...as he is getting ready to leave...he spies them
walking towards the end of the dock...stealing a moment alone....Pacey's arm is around her shoulder and her head is cuddled into him and as Dawson watches them walk toward the sunset...he hates to have to disturb them...but he doesn't
want to leave without saying good-by...He begins to stroll down the dock and as he gets closer...they are now holding hands and facing each other...Pacey kisses her forehead...and she lays her head into his chest...with that Pacey sees Dawson coming toward them...and says to Joey..."Ummm...Mrs. Witter...we are not alone anymore"...with that she looks up and also sees Dawson approaching them...
Pacey says to him..."Hey man...are you having a good time"...and Dawson smiles and says back..."Guys...I've had a wonderful time...and thank-you for allowing me to be part of your special day"...Joey than takes his hand and says..."thank-you Dawson for coming"...and her eyes begin to fill with tears...knowing that this is the last time that they will be seeing him for a while...and she also says to him
"and your toast to Us...really meant alot"...realizing that she is getting emotional
Pacey again puts his arm around her shoulder...wittnessing this Dawson once again is faced with the fact...that it is Pacey who will be taking care of her...who will be spending his life with her...Pacey now says to Dawson.."We were just getting ready to head back over to Jack and Doug's... to finish getting ready to leave for our honeymoon...would you like to join us"...and Dawson smiling again says..."I would really love to ....but I can't...I promised my mom...I would go over to her house for a visit with her and Lilly...before I have to leave for the
airport"...with that he looks at Pacey again and says..."So I guess this is it...
my schedule is going to be pretty hectic over the next couple of months...so I probably won't be back home for a while"...Pacey answers back..."Yeah...I get what you mean...our schedule is going to be tight too...We only have six weeks to the grand opening of the "True Love"...I will be starting employee interviews as soon as we get back from our honeymoon"...with that there is a few moments of awkward silence...they are all feeling the same thing...20 years of friendship...
that evolved with changing desire's...leaving them all with a new beginning...
Joey makes the first move...she steps forward and embraces Dawson and then says lovingly to him..."E.T. don't forget to phone home"...a coded message for him...it was their favorite movie over the years to watch together...in this one statement...she is letting him know...that she will treasure their past and she wants to continue to have a future friendship...Pacey standing to the side graciously gives them their moment...Dawson looking into her eyes says back...
I truly see how much you love him...and how much he loves you...and you both deserve all the happiness that life has to offer"...and she smiles coyly at him and kisses his cheek...she then steps back...looks at him...and taking a deep breath
turns to her husband and says..."I'll give you guys a few moments alone" and kisses him on the lips...whispering..."I Love You"...and squeezes his hand letting him know that she understands what he is feeling...and as she begins to walk away...she turns back...and she sees these two boys embracing each other...
and her heart flutters...for as long as she could remember...all she wanted was to love Pacey...and not lose Dawson's friendship...for a brief period she had to move on without them...in order for them to find each other again...to appreciate what their friendship meant...and as she continues to walk further down the dock
she yells back to them..."See ya Boys"....and laughing they both yelled back together..."See ya Joey"...and as they watched her walk away...Dawson says to Pacey..."Boy that Woman's amazing"...and hearing the familiarity of the words
he smiles at Dawson and answers..."I love her so much it hurts"...Dawson looking down now answers..."I know Pace...I know"...and they embrace again...with Dawson saying..."Take care of her Pace"...and he begins to walk away...
Pacey feeling his best friends anguish yells out to him..."Hey Dawson...do you think it's possible for Joey to have two soulmates"...letting Dawson know that it is OK with him...for him and Joey to continue with their special friendship...and Dawson turning around and smiling...yells back..."I think it's already possible Pace...I have two"...and the two young men just look at each other...in their own knowing way...realizing...that they themselves are also Soulmates...Two boys who grew up together ....sharing a "Love Story"...each loving her in their own way...and her loving them too...But...her "True Love"....was...is...and always will be her husband Pacey...and as Pacey heads back to the party...he sees waiting for him...His Girl...and their eyes connect and she runs to him....and he lifts her up and twirls her around...and kisses her sweetly....and from the other end of the party...saying his last good-by's...Dawson sees them...enjoying their happiness...
and he has a flashback to another time...he remembered seeing them with this same expression of joy....and laughter...he was passing them in the hall at school
when the two of them were repainting her vandalized wall.... he smiles to himself and thinks..."I must have been blind"!!!!

Through the clinking and clanging of dishes and glasses being cleared away... The last of the guests are leaving...as Doug is holding Amy...Pacey is kissing her on the cheek...and saying...
“See you next week...princess...and he embraces his brother Doug saying...”I will never forget what you did today...stepping aside to let Dawson be the Best man...It was the most unselfish act I have ever wittnessed...I want to say that I love you more...because of it...but I don’t think that I can love you more than I already do!”Joey gives Jack a hug and a kiss and Jack says...”Have a great honeymoon guys”...and he shakes Pacey’s hand and says...”What a great day...a day that has been in the making for 10 years...and I for one always knew that this was going to happen for you two....you just belong together...and I hope you have lots of kids...to play with Amy...she wants cousins...so get cracking”...Pacey and Joey just look at each other and start laughing...Pacey says back...”I think we have enough on our plates right now”...and Joey...very excited by the thought says...”Well I don’t know about that...a little Witter might be just what the doctor ordered”...and she laughs...Pacey is stunned just thinking about the possibility...Doug quips...”I think we will stay out of this drama...we’ve had enough drama for one day” and off the three of them go...
Holding hands...standing alone...they look around at the remains of the day...Pacey takes Joey into his arms and says...”What a great day!!...well, Mrs. Witter...were you happy with everything”
Joey smiling answers...”Pace I couldn’t have been happier...you guys did an exceptional job and I think that we should do weddings here more often”...Pacey looking surprised says...”let’s not get ahead of ourselves Mrs.Witter...we already have a new project...that we are starting up”...Joey now laughing says...” I know Pace...but you really inspire me to jump in and be part of all this”..
Pacey smiling takes her hand and says...”follow me...I have something for us to do”...and he leads her to the end of the dock...the lights flickering off of the water...are just breathtaking....and she looks at him and says...” It’s late Pace...what are we doing here...we should be back at the house packing and getting ready for our honeymoon”...Pacey smirks at her and says...”I think that this is a little more important”..”What is”..says Joey...and Pacey sits on the end of the dock...with his legs hanging over the edge..and motions for her to join him...she says..”Pace I’m wearing a wedding dress”...Pacey being impatient says...I know you are in a wedding dress...I need for you to sit here with me...Please...just for a little while”...and with that...she sits next to him...and as soon as she looks at him...she understands...and says...”Boy does this bring me back...to another time...a time of uncertainty” and she puts her head on his shoulder...and he puts his arm around her...and as they sit there quietly...not only are they remembering their beginning.....they are at their beginning....A boy....A girl....and their destiny!!!
