Those ’70s Comics: 659

Inspired by episode 507 - “Hot Dog”

---

Comments: his comic was inspired by 1) one of Hyde’s diary entries on That ‘70s Show’s original official website and 2) the following exchange in “Down the Road Apiece” (7x17) between Jackie and Hyde about her disappointment in him as a boyfriend:

Jackie: He never even wrote me a single song

Hyde: How would you know? You never stop talking long enough to listen

Jackie [hopeful]: Wait, you wrote me a song?

Hyde: No.

I wanted to show some of Hyde’s early-relationship missteps because I knew I’d develop his character in the comics to work through his fears and insecurities and become a better (and consistent) boyfriend and a happier person – and the above exchange in “Down the Road Apiece” would never need to happen between the comics’ version of Jackie and Hyde. He even sings Jackie an improvised song in T7C: 1379, 1380, 1381, and 1382 to show how much he loves her, gives her a rose for Valentine’s Day in comic!season 5, and gets her a bouquet of her favorite flowers in comic!season 6.

Dasha, I'm happy you enjoy their love.
