I can see it maybe needing to last a couple of episodes to give Lucas something else to focus on. But it really went on far too long. Did it have to lead to them getting married? Was this another ploy for monster to show how much he didn't like Hilarie anymore to basically humiliate Peyton in Season 5? I get that Lucas was hurt, as he should of been. He was scared, he has every right to be scared. But scared enough to marry a woman that he doesn't love. Not only is he making himself unhappy, he's destroying Lindsey's life by not being completely in love with her. I'm sure we know how it would have destroyed Peyton's life if they actually did get married.
