I think a lot of what Picard has already started to show is that even in all the advances in the future humanity can still have its ugly side, no war and no money but at our core as a species, it could be realistic to say humanity will never be beyond prejudice/racism unless the show is subtle hoping to teach humanity of now to smarten up
