Betty - in your User CP, under Settings and Options on the left hand side, click on Edit Options
Then under Messaging and Notification, Default Thread Subscription Mode - change that to one of the notification options.
As Cece mentioned, you won't be emailed because that feature has been disabled, but it should update in your User CP
