I think Meredith's beyond having "looks" as her #1 priority. She's been with a pretty boy for awhile now, but Deluca's so boring I can't even stand it. She needs someone with depth. Besides, this guy isn't really all that unattractive ... I don't care for the baldness, but he's in shape and has a decent face. It's so funny Ellen talks about this in her new meaningful beauty thing, I'm with her.
So, it remains to be seen what kind of person this new guy really is - that's what is important.
