Lance Reddick/Phillip Broyles #9: His determination to find the answers is what makes him a great agent.

I'm sure alt-Broyles dealt with his guilt in his own way.

However, David Robert Jones coerced him into an alliance in exchange for information for a cure for his son Christopher's blindness.

Alt-Lincoln was killed at the hands of one of Jones's shapeshifters, caused by alt-Broyles's giving away their location, not by alt-Broyles himself. Alt-Broyles and Nina were ordered by Jones to kill Canaan. (The raises another question: would attempting to kill a shapeshifter be considered attempted murder in the alternate universe?)

Broyles could have argued that he had no idea alt-Lincoln was going to be killed. Alt-Nina could have argued the same defense.

Remember, alt-Broyles was also instructed by Jones to plant a device into the bridge between universes to disrupt the Machine, but instead turned himself in to our Broyles.

So, in fact alt-Broyles is sort of a hero, saving both universes from destruction.

Give the guy a break.
