Well, in the comics, Hank didn't have the ability to transform whenever he wanted to. At different times he was either human looking all the time, only with superhuman strength and agility, or he was blue and furry all the time, with superhuman strength and agility.
Yeah, Carl Weathers died in Predator as well.
His character, Dillon, got his arm blown off by the Predator, and then he got impaled by the Predator's wrist blades.
