The board does slow down sometimes, especially when the administrators are making changes, which is usually right around the end of the month, when new boards are being set up, and also on Sunday's when they are doing a variety of weekly maintenance. Usually those slow downs only last an hour or so.
Of course, sometimes it slows down just because servers do that sometimes.
