By 8th grade I had a full after school clientele by 11th grade I decided to enroll in the cosmetology program at EVIT, the local trade school half day. That’s where I got my chemistry credit*... and logged a thousand hours before I could finish the full 1600 and moved to LA... —————————————————————
Never got my license, but I never stopped doing hair. Especially after moving to LA as a young starving artist/aspiring singer-songwriter hitting up the open mic nights. I did lots of friends and friends of friends hair in the evenings after my day job of nannying twins. Including my own to save money and have been for the most part for the last 16 years of living in a place where it cost a million dollars to get ur hair done (i did pay the big bucks for some haircuts/highlights and typically ended up cutting it myself afterwards )and have saved literally thousands of dollars. After American idol my days of doing hair became fewer and fewer. But I give Dave hair cuts regularly and still have the sheers near and a box of foils and some bleach up in my closet for when i get a wild hair...—————————————————————
For $free.99 it’s good, but never perfect. Sometimes the back looks a little willie wonky but thankfully, I never see it... as they say “outta site outta mind” *♀️ (I did document a bit of the “process” on the story, but also: I’m being a bad influence, probably don’t try this at home *♀️)
