Well yeah because Damon/Bonnie was the MAIN difference for me. lol
From the back of my mind I can clearly remember the difference.
Klaus wasn't as developed and Katherine/Klaus relationship was written way different. Obviously the Mikaelson family didn't exist! It only exist because of how Elijah became
I also agree with the video on the Katherine/Elena... only because the doppelganger stuff start getting on my nerves on TVD, it got overused.
Bonnie is much stronger on the show though... so I don't think I'd change that. I believe she is written better on the show although Bonnie was more adorable in the books... it's probably why Damon was so protective over Bonnie, his "red head bird." 
Of course I was initially sad that we didn't get the Elena/Meredith/Bonnie trio friendship! but the Caroline one worked... even though at first it didn't seem like Caroline would be as close... nicely that changed. In the books, Caroline isn't that likable...
Also to end... I ain't ever getting over how different they treated Damon/Bonnie. in the books, Bonnie was the one to get Damon's heart walls to break.
 That video just made me upset again. lol
I'm grateful we got what we got though... even if I'll always wish we got more.
