I am pretty impressed that Rory and Jess made it to the top 2 in that vote. The article is dated 2016 and they actually beat Chuck/Blair which I thought was an insanely popular ship amongst teens. If they were going to be beaten I am ok with it being by Anne and Gilbert. It has been years since I have watched that series.
