you don't really see this kind of bond among kids, that deep loyalty. when the feds were looking for El and Mike was so firm in not giving them any information at all. kids usually get more scared and they wouldn't be able to protect someone like that, and they usually are more judgmental towards strange people like El who has all these powers and was such an outsider at first, but not him. it's always been so heartwarming to see, sure it was a bumpy start but they've developed such a mature relationship in such a short time and young age
