Well, US TV shows always skip a few weeks, every once in a while. The reason is that most shows simply don't produce enough episodes in one season, to fill an entire season from October to May. I guess they strategically place new epsiodes based on their market research, and then they fill the rest with reruns or other stuff. At least that's the way it used to be...
