^ For sure. Klaus making Tyler his test subject for his hybrid experiment did force the Mystic Falls gang to find the solution. Unfortunately for Klaus, Klaus making Tyler a hybrid came back and bite him soon afterward.
Klaus probably would have found another way to get his hybrid army if he knew how that first 'pancake' (i.e. Tyler) would do him more harm than good.
