She didn't want to like him in HftH at all, he didn't like Riley, so she didn't like him. As the ep went on, she resisted it the whole way as they started to bond, so her attitude was completely different. In Master Plan, it was obvious at that point that she cared a hell of a lot more about what he thought of her & that she wanted to keep him in her life. Plus, when she was ranting to Riley about how her mother drives men away, it was pretty obvious that she was terrified that that's what would happen with Shawn, so I think she was trying to be on her best behavior around him in that ep.
