Maybe because it aired on a Monday night? I didn't even know it was on a Monday night until a few days ago. I just assumed it was airing on a Sunday night like it usually is.
But even so, I know the past Emmys have low ratings too.

I think the change in day definitely and I didn't like the hosts. They were flat, and unhumorous and they are SNL alums!
They should have had someone like Kristen Bell and Seth Rogan to be honest, just someone with more personality!
