Agreed, when it's creating more anger/disappointment than happiness, it's time to take a step back and put yourself first.
I would take the second option, hands down.
At least, we could get one amazing episode of Bellarke canon scenes.
And also, it's something which would be realistic? Them wanting to be together at that time, but circumstances not allowing them to.
